Question 1

Do you recommend using these pants for hikes that lasts several days/weeks or are they only meant for day hikes?

Amelie, Arc'teryx Guest Services · Accepted Answer

Hi there, thank you for your question. Whether the Nia Pant is suitable for multi-day or even multi-week hikes ultimately comes down to personal preference and the conditions you'll be hiking in. The Nia is designed as a hiking pant and offers a comfortable balance of durability, mobility, and everyday versatility. Features such as its lightweight construction, breathable fabric, and freedom of movement make it a great option for long days on the trail. Many hikers appreciate this type of pant for trekking because it remains comfortable over extended periods and packs easily. However, for very rugged terrain, harsh weather, or expedition-style use, some hikers may prefer a more technical or weather-resistant pant. If you're considering the Nia Pant for an extended trip, we'd recommend trying it on a few day hikes first to see if the fit, comfort, and performance match your personal preferences and hiking style.

Question 4

Buongiorno, questi pantaloni sono adatti anche alla primavera estate? oppure son pesanti?

Seymour, Arc'teryx Guest Services · Accepted Answer

Question 5

Are these pants UPF?

Helio, Arc'teryx Guest Services · Accepted Answer

Question 7

Can I use them for winter mountain hike?

Luna · Accepted Answer

Hi there, thank you for your question! The Nia Pant can certainly be used for day hikes in cool conditions, but it’s not designed for winter mountain hikes. The Wee Burly™ Double Weave fabric offers durability and weather resistance while remaining comfortable next to skin, though it doesn’t provide the warmth of a fleece or insulated pant. If you’re looking for a cold-weather option, the Norvan Insulated Pant is a great choice. It’s designed as a warm, highly breathable pair of pants for mountain runs and winter activities. We hope this helps!

Question 8

What is the exact inseam for 6S and 6R for this? I have the clarkia 6S which I love length wise. Will Nia (S) be shorter than clarkia (S)?

Seymour, Arc'teryx Guest Services · Accepted Answer

Hi there, thanks for reaching out. The inseam length of the Nia Pant is 74.4 cm in size 6-R and 69.4 cm in size 6-S. For comparison, the Clarkia Cotton Wide Leg Pant in size 6-S has an inseam of 73.9 cm. This means the Nia Pant in size 6-S will be a few centimetres shorter than your Clarkia Pant. We hope this helps!

Question 9

Should I spray with DWR or use wax to waterproof?

Seymour, Arc'teryx Guest Services · Accepted Answer

Hi Cindy, thanks for reaching out. If you feel the DWR on your pants needs to be refreshed, we recommend using a spray-on Durable Water Repellent (DWR) treatment such as Nu Durable Water Repellent. We don’t recommend using wax, as it can affect the breathability and performance of the fabric. We hope this helps!

Question 10

is this considered mid or high rise?

River · Accepted Answer

Hello there, the Nia pant has a front rise of 23.6 cm and it typically falls into the high-rise category.

Here’s a general breakdown for women’s pants:
Low rise: 18 - 20 cm
Mid rise: 20 - 23 cm
High rise: 23 cm and above

So at 23.6 cm, you're just over the threshold for high rise. That means the waistband will likely sit above your natural waist, offering more coverage and a longer leg line.
