Hello Jasper, the Thorium Hoody in size XS has a waist width of
112.4 cm. We hope this helps!

Question 2

Is it waterproof

Seymour, Arc'teryx Guest Services · Accepted Answer

Hi Ellen, thanks for reaching out. The Thorium Hoody features a moisture-resistant outer face fabric but is not waterproof. If you're looking for a waterproof down jacket, we recommend looking into one of our jackets that features GORE-TEX, such as the Therme Down Jacket. We hope this helps!

Question 3

What’s the water proofing lien

River, Arc'teryx Guest Services · Accepted Answer

Hello there, since the Thorium Hoody isn’t a waterproof jacket and doesn’t use a GORE‑TEX membrane, we don’t perform waterproof testing on it. Instead, it’s treated with an FC0‑DWR finish that helps repel light rain or snow and keeps the surface from wetting out right away. It’s great for cold, dry conditions or quick showers, but it’s not designed for sustained or heavy rainfall, so the fabric will eventually absorb moisture in those situations.

Question 4

Why does The white jacked have an almost black or gray inside that you can see very strange ? I expected the jacket to be the off white color but it’s almost a defect that you can see the peppered piling through the material in some areas. Odd

Amelie, Arc'teryx Guest Services · Accepted Answer

Hello Benee, thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We understand how the appearance of the white jacket may be unexpected. The down used in our products is undyed and can naturally vary in colour. In lighter-coloured garments, such as white styles, the face fabric may allow some darker down clusters to be more visible through the material, creating a peppered or mottled appearance in certain areas. This is a normal characteristic of the product and not a defect. The visible down does not affect the jacket’s warmth, performance, durability, or overall quality. We recognize that this look may not be what you expected based on the garment colour, and we appreciate you bringing your concerns forward. We hope this helps clarify what you're seeing. Please let us know if you have any additional questions.

Question 10

Hi- I want to purchase this for a family member as a gift, but have a size question. He is on the short side (5'8") but wide- I would normally get an extra large but that is undoubtedly going to be long in the sleeves. Suggestion?

Seymour, Arc'teryx Guest Services · Accepted Answer

Hi Mary, thanks for reaching out. To ensure the best fit, we recommend checking the full body measurements against our sizing chart and fit guide. If the measurements fall between sizes, choose a larger size for a looser fit or a smaller size for a closer fit. For reference, the sleeve length from the center back in a size XL is 97.1 cm. We hope this helps!
