Quality jacket. A large mens seems designed for skinny men. tight in the waist hips and arms for me. Also not as warm as I was expecting. Sizing is inconsistent between different styles of coats, so it is challenging unless you go to a store to try different coats on. A large in one jacket may fit great while a large in another is too small.

My overall experience with arcteryx this time around was pretty bad. I had purchased the dark magic colour recently. Upon arrival of the product after the first wear I noticed near the front right pocket had next to no down fill. I called the Vaughan location and they said they would take a look at it. Upon arrival at the store, the workers all assumed I had worn my jacket for a while, which I had to explain to them that it was newly purchased multiple times until I showed them the receipt. Then they inspected the jacket and agreed there was a quality control issue and was possible to put more down in. They submitted the work order in and that's when customers support, declined the possibility the jacket was defective until I showed the more photos. Then they said they needed to do an in person inspection, directing me to Eaton Centre. When I arrived they said they disassembled their repair shop. Then they told me to go to the one on Bloor. When I got there it was closed. I had to drive down from Markham to reach this location on another day just for them to say, we are going to wash your jacket, if we agree it's defective after wash you can't keep it and can only get store credit. So I had to make a decision there on whether to keep a defective jacket or return it or wash it, to only get store credit. The whole situation was so frustrating. From tryiny to prove I recently purchased the jacket like I was a criminal to them telling me the wrong information on location only to tell me their limited options. They refused to give me a discount on the defective jacket. The moment I returned the dark magic jacket, 1 went back in stock online. So there's a defective product floating around from person to person. I was a hardcore arc'teryx fan. But this brand is dead to me now. Sent me on a wild goose chase and wasted hours of my life stuck in traffic and dealing with a brand that doesn't even know itself.

I have used this jacket for a multitude of seasons, and activities. It is consistently my go to for something lightweight, easy to pack, and provides a great fit amongst my other layers.

I am not a “reviewer”, but wanted to review this piece. I am 6’1” 165 and a Medium fits perfectly. Some have complained about shorter sleeves but it’s not noticeable. Would have liked a more tapered mesh sleeve opening, but just wear gloves with a tight seal. Coat is comfortable, light, breathable, and WARM. Perfect for walking the Huskie in the snow. Hood is so warm you don’t even need a hat. Mouth and neck are comfortably covered. I spent 12 weeks backpacking through Utah in the middle of the winter. This would have been amazing in the evenings out there. Looks good. Lots of compliments. Worth it even at full price.

I have the Thorium hoody version from 2020. I recently bought the same jacket but now under Arcteryx's new sizing regime. Size small has become smaller while size medium has stayed the same, so if small fit you perfectly before, now it is too small, and medium is too big. Arcteryx says the new sizing is more "inclusive", but I fail to see how. Now people who used to wear small find themselves wearing either a too tight jacket or too loose jacket. I hope Arcteryx re-evaluates and reverse the new sizing.

Super disappointing - Arcteryx made the sleeves so short on a Medium? every single other Medium Arcteryx I've purchased fits appropriately (20+ pieces over a decade) - however this ONE hoody is about 2-3" short when you raise your arm. The body is perfect - hip length perfect - hood fit perfect - SLEEVES awful ... this is winter jacket ... why make the sleeves SOFA KING short??!! Total miss. HUGE oversight. Terrible execution for an otherwise great hoody.

Love it. super warm and fits very well, easily fits over a sweatshirt but is not bulky at all. The zipper comes up high on the neck/chin but that's not a draw back, you just have to know that before buying it, i love it for the super cold days.

Just one thing bothers me on this jacket - I wish the waist was 1.5 inch wider and roomier overall - its too snug for athletic build 5'9". Right now it is 21" wide lying flat - it would be perfect if it was 21.5 - 22" wide flat. its difficult to have decent movement, especially when sitting down - just feels constraining like a girdle ! And I am not fat at all, just a bit stocky and 50. Going up a size doesn't work, where everything else becomes too big. Since this is not the cerium, primarily to fit as a middle layer under a shell, there is not reason to keep the midrift tailoring so snug - so relax it out an 1" overall next season please!

For something so expensive, it rips so easily. I have four holes in the jacket, and I've barely worn it 10 times. I've never regretted a purchase so much. It didn't even last a whole season.. 👎🏽

Great jack. Really warm and fits good. Tough exterior. My 80 lbs Rottweiler tried bitting it and it still didn’t puncture. So far not much down leakage or any at all. I would definitely recommend this jacket

Bought in November to be used under a shell for skiing. All the feathers in the mid back gravitate towards the side leaving no warmth.

Bought this for the winter season. Only broke it out a few times and during those times, it was toasty. Used as a standalone, it was still fine down to 40 degrees Fahrenheit. Very toasty, very puffy, very nice.

Amazing jacket!! So warm, comfortable and convenient, comes with a little bag and doesn’t take up any room. I prefer the men’s fit over the women’s thorium jacket, mainly because it layers really well with sweaters etc. underneath. Would definitely recommend investing!

Great down jacket. Surprisingly warm, in a good way. Fits really well everything lives up to the Arc’Teryx reputation. My only (very small) criticism is that, when done up. the bottom part of the 2-way zipper opens a bit too easily and I find myself regularly having to re-close/pull it back down. Other than that, I’m very happy. I’m mostly using as a stand-alone jacket. I do not use as my primary mid-layer, as it’s too warm for that. But as a mid-layer when things are extra cold, this is a home run.

It is extremely comfortable and has lots of pockets for my gloves, accessories, and snacks. I spent a day in the mountains and it was a perfect insulation layer to keep me toasty, especially when I wasn't moving.

I wanted a jacket that would be warm with not having to wear multiple layers beneath it and I think Thorium Hoody does that for me. The fit is great, I am 182 cm tall and Medium is spot on. Black color is universal and will last forever and I think this jacket will last with me forever.

Very happy with the down jacket. I’m 6”2 and 200 lbs and the size XL was perfect! Been using these jackets for years! Love everything!

A great jacket for winter. Stylish, warm, excellent fit, but then someone decided to make the hoodie with such short sleeves. Why, Arcteryx? It's never a good idea, especially when the jacket is designed this way, to make the sleeves so short. Longer is always better. It's frustrating. It would have been the perfect jacket, especially since the Atom series or the Proton product line have properly long sleeves, which makes absolute sense. Who made this decision? Please, never again... the sleeves need to be longer in 2024, significantly longer.
