Needs a lot of improvements

I wanted to like this… but I find the mechanism is annoying, I felt my stuff is moving from side to side even though I tried to balance it. It doesn’t have a pouch for the hydration bladder only a clip, which also makes the bag move so much…. The side pockets are ridiculously useless, very shallow, anything you stuff in there, falls out… I ended up returning it.

Great workhorse pack

Good, sturdy pack great for 3-4 day trips. The hipbelt rotoglide system is useful in transferring weight while moving especially over rough terrain. The angle of the hipbelt could be improved however as I find it cants/ tilts upwards a bit instead of sitting more flat and shelf like on top of the hips. The side zipper to access the main compartment is handy instead of digging around through the top. It has just enough separate pockets to organize smaller quick access items but I am not as much a fan of the mesh sleeves as pockets on the hip belts. They tend to snag easily when bushwhacking or setting the pack down around rocks and such. Having at least 1 zippered hip belt pocket would work better.

I would not recommend the Bora…

I just finished the Wonderland Trail (150km, 8 days) with the Bora60
Pros:
Light weight
Comfortable
Great top pockets
Tegris back panel provides a sweat free back!
Cons:
I wish one of the hip pockets had a zipper to secure items you want easy access to. Once the Bora is packed the side zipper pocket is pretty useless, it would be better as another mesh pocket.
Rotoglide 😬…
Ensure your Bora is balanced when you pack it. If not, it feels like your pack is leaning one way because the Rotoglide still shifts left to right even when your belt is in lock mode.
Rotoglide is SUPER noisy if you get debris in it. Which inevitably happens when you set your pack down. It’s annoying. I recommend flushing the mechanism with your water bottle before heading out for the day. Otherwise you’ll sound like a loud rusty door hinge every step. The plastic components make me a little nervous for its durability for a longer trip.

Comfortable and Adjustable

This is my first 60L pack and I'm loving all the compartments, zippered pockets, and large brain for easy access to all gear. The best parts are the adjustable straps and hip belt, making it very customizable for a wide range of body types. My first reaction to the weight was that it was a bit heavy, but after using the bag, the comfort and convenience of the technical features and well padded straps are worth the couple oz.

This bag is a GAME CHANGER for multiday treks. The Rotoglide hip swivel is whisper quiet while hiking. It removes pressure from my back and waist while distributing weight evenly. I love having a dedicated first aid kit pocket- easy access for emergencies (or when we need to tape up the feet). The brain of the pack is removable which is great if you are needing a smaller daypack, but make sure you bring your own cording for this feature. My few suggestions for this pack would be: Include straps or make straps on the bag removable so you can attach to the brain for a daypack & I would recommend adding a sleeve for the water bladder for safety (I have worries that the bladder may get punctured over time). Overall a great pack. I am very excited to be pain free during my adventures!

BEEN WAITING FOR THIS!

Okay so I've had my eye on the Bora pack for years, but of course it wasn't available last season. I'm SO stoked at the update and it is absolutely amazing! First, I love the front pocket - I can literally get my entire tent in that. Second, the upper compartments in the top are fantastic, never worry about losing keys again! The sliding hip pads are interesting and I'm not sure how I feel about them yet, but certainly not bad! I need to spend more time with it, but I see the utility for sure. The adjustments you can make with the shoulder and hip pads is awesome. And SO LIGHT. The side pockets also make me so happy. I love love love it.

I wanted to like this backpack

Contrary to the description in the Bora Backpack Manual, this pack does not have a hydration sleeve but only a clip to attach a bladder to the bag. This leaves the contents of the pack in direct contact with the bladder, thus possibly damaging the bladder or having a flood in the pack. Additionally, the pockets on the waistband are not zippered and small enough that they would likely not be of much use.
