Excellent stability and traction for my SAR trail work. The GTX for snow and rain is a bonus! It does run large from my past trail shoes.

The shoes have just arrived, so I can’t comment on their durability or comfort for long walks yet. On first wear, although they’re on the stiffer side, they seem comfortable. I bought them to replace a pair of Konseal shoes I use for everyday wear, and while those are thinner and softer, I preferred to go back to a sturdier shoe. They’re also very nice looking—gray and black, they’re discreet enough, even with the orange laces. But they’re awfully finished. On the upper part of the shoe, near the last eyelet, where the interior lining meets the exterior fabric, there’s simply no finishing. It’s not finished off; they’ve just cut the fabric and that’s it. You can even clearly see the interior padding. Both shoes are the same, on both sides, so it doesn’t seem like a one-off flaw, it looks like they were designed this way. This is certainly not the level of detail you would expect from a 180€ pair of sneakers. I don’t get it. My Vertex and Konseals are really good shoes. My Sylans are flawless, just perfect. What happened? Is this the new quality standard from Arc'teryx?

This new shoe build gets better. With a wider toe box for wider front feet for toes to spread when walking/hiking, so it had the effect to lower the fatigue of the feet. Additionally, the platform is so stable and supported with a bit of sock-like slide in feel so the shoe wraps pretty comfortably and able to wear them for long hours.

I bought these to replace my Aerios, which were fantastic. I take a UK11.5 in the Aerios and the Norvan and I had to take a UK12 in these. The toe box is no wider than the Aerios. The upper is so stiff and rigid that it rubs the top of your foot on toe flexion, which causes heat spots. I can't imagine this improving with further break-in. The midsole is softer and I feel prone to damage on sharp rocks/roots etc. Also, the lug pattern feels very odd under foot, especially the heel. In short, these are a downgrade from the Aerios.

These are super lightweight stylish comfy shoe. Wide fit. Quick delivery and great customer service. Harsh not giving it 5 stars only because I didn’t like colour of the laces, which are easily changed for minimal cost.

Colourway is awesome; but this shoe is not for me as I have sunken arches and the wider toe box than the aerios made them feel less supportive. They look to be very well made and the addition of the abrasion strip on the inner side of the upper would have suited my usage to a tee

A multi-platform shoes smart enough to wear in town. Ragged enough to hike and scramble in.

I needed a daily hiking/walking replacement for my Aerios FL, which I have worn daily for the last three years. Even though I wear a 10.5 wide, I am very fortunate that my feet fit into Arc shoes/boots. This was a perfect and comfy fit right out of the box. The Kopec is extremely light, the material is very durable, and the soles are super grippy. The wide toe box is a significant improvement over the Aerios FL, I feel that there is much more room for my toes. I wish the Kopec came with a heel pull tab (like the Vertex Alpine) so I can easily pull the shoe onto my foot. I'm glad the Kopec has molded toe caps and reinforcements in high-wear zones, as I anticipate my clumsy gait will have me tripping over logs and kicking rocks on the trail. Take a look at the photos to see a comparison between the Acrux AR, Acrux TR, Vertex Alpine, and Aerios FL. I'm very satisfied with the Kopec, it's a great upgrade from the Aerios FL. It's much lighter, waterproof, and has great style in the Black/Void/Dynasty laces combo. This will be my daily hiker/walker because I want the performance aspects and comfort. For technical approaches, I will put on the Vertex Alpine even though I could wear the Kopecs (but Vertex Alpine will perform much better with scree and talus approaches).

Very well built, light, shoes. I usually wear a 7.5 wide and I tried both the 7.5s and 8s. I have the norvans and they are practically indestructible but they are a little too narrow. These have a wide toe box but they are much lower volume than the norvans. So much so I could not wear them which is a shame because they seem very nice. Arc still needs a better option for those of us with wide feet. If you have a low volume foot these should work for you wonderfully.
