New design- cheaper materials and poor fit

I have quite a few of the old version and a couple of the new version (zipper).
New one is worse in several ways:
- chest too tight if you’re athletic — which is what I thought Arc’teryx was supposed to be catering to
- plastic snaps are less durable than old metal snaps — I’ve broken one taking the shirt off!
- Placket is narrower and material is thinner, so the snaps show in an unflattering way
- obvious cost cutting — old ones had some subtle contrast piping on the inside collar, better stitching on the seams, and slightly thicker material that looked better.
Glad my old ones are still in good shape, and I wouldn’t be surprised if the old ones last longer than the new ones.

Good fit, without being flashy. But I’m not sure if it will last… early days yet. Definitely don’t like the zippered front pocket.

Perfect for travel, work & outdoors

Back in the store at long last! Perfect for travel, smart enough for work, and the collar & long sleeves give me the sun protection I need for outdoors. Not been able to find any comparable product on the market. Doesn't seem to age either, unlike my Gamma pants (pocket seams!) or my Brize pack. Even the time I cycled under a trailing rose (Melange Lucent Heather Medium) only resulted in a very small rip, which hasn't grown at all since then.
Only clear change now (March 2025) is bird logo on upper left arm. Fabric might just be slightly thinner than previously, and some packaging creases still visible after first wash. Canvas II colour seems identical to the Canvas one I bought in June 2022.
Chest pocket: My very first shirt had a flap, but I far prefer the zipper. Form has to follow function, and especially when travelling I can’t afford the distraction of checking that what I put in the pocket stays there. And for city use I think the zipper looks better, especially when pocket not in use.

Best long sleeve shirt ever!

This is without a doubt the best shirt I’ve ever owned and it seems Arc’teryx no longer makes this which is sad. Fantastic product an had to go buy a gray one on eBay just to get a second. I hope this gets re-stocked/produced. The pocket is perfect, the snaps are super easy and make for a clean front. The material is strong, odor resistant, and washes well load after load. It’s my go-to travel shirt. What’s not to love!

Meilleure chemise au monde

Selon moi un des meilleurs morceaux de vêtements d’Arc’teryx. J’en ai deux à manche longue et une à manche courte. Ne se froisse pas, super confortable, très résistante. Je peux autant travailler avec dans un bureau qu’aller marcher sans inconfort. Ça fait 4 ans que je les ai et il n’y a toujours aucune déchirure malgré que je les porte à presque toutes les semaines.

Please bring back the original Skyline style

Agreed with all those here. Bring back the old style without the zipper. The original fit and style was way better. I have 4 shirts with snaps and 2 with zippers. Zippers are more snug in the chest and the zipper feels out of place. I don’t wear those. The snap versions are now quite old and I need replacements. Trying to give you money Arcteryx. This feels analogous to a soda company changing their principal ingredients. Let’s go back to the original recipe please. The customers have spoken.
