Almost perfect

Almost perfect ski touring bib pant! It has all the right features and it fits as described. The only improvement that could be made and something to be mindful of as user, is the boot snow skirt tends to be quite fragile and tears easily when taking on and off of the boot for transitions. Something that happens very frequently ski touring. Having said that, when compared to the competition, this piece of equipment rocks!

Great Bibs, but poor sizing.

The small is not small. They stopped making the extra small size which means that if you have a smaller waist than a 32 these will not fit. Which means now we have to wait a whole year so that they hopefully fix the sizing and bring back the XS. This is the same issue for the Sabre bib. Big disappointment.

New Favorite

I love these bibs. Used them for a full season in the resort this year and was really impressed with the fit and the way they lie on the legs. Nice and trim without any fabric pinching or bunching. Would recommend for anyone who needs a solid pair of bibs for really any ski applications!

Poor quality

Just bought these for a ski trip and I got 10 days of backcountry in them before the cuff ripped and the zipper completely malfunctioned. I have primary used arcteryx for years and never had an issue. The brand has gone way downhill and they don’t stand behind the quality of the items. It’s no longer reliable or “Rugged Technology”. Very sad.

No Other Real Alternative...missing Beta SV line

My Beta SV bibs bubbled up and leaked. Fortunately, Back Country Academy is in town. They leak tested them and gave me a code for Warranty Replacement which is great. I replaced them with the only viable alternative, the Rush Bib as Beta SV was discontinued a couple years back. My first impressions: Light weight Comfy fit in thigh, but tight in rear especially at end of turn No reverse fly!!!! Phone cozy in pocket...big selling feature these days i guess??? Can't offer any durability feed back as they are new, but don't expect them to resist wear like Beta SV, but hoping I'm wrong Sure would love to see full Beta SV line make a comeback Arcteryx for the most part only got favourable reviews back in the day

Can’t recommend Arcteryx for any post2019 products

I own plenty of arc products. Durability and quality has taken a major hit in the last few years. The new Rush are no exception. Design and fit, fine for me (5’10 150 lbs). Durability and new material choice, poor. I own other Rush line products from pre-2019, bulletproof. The 2024 Rush bibs are air permeable, questionable materials choice, and very very poor material choice. When spending $700, I personally didn’t want a lightweight touring pant. Wish I read previous reviews on poor durability prior. Unfortunately I can’t recommend these, and will be looking elsewhere for resort/touring pants that are a) higher quality and b) less than $700. Sad to see a quality brand take such a hit after the acquisition in 2019. The declination shows. Huge bummer. I’d look elsewhere as the Rush line isn’t worth it anymore with such quality products out there.

Ain’t what they used to be

Jan2024- second pair of Rush Bibs (first are about 4-5years old). These new pair (purchased in Jan2024), are not nearly the quality or toughness of the previous versions. Unfortunately the Rush Line has gone downhill in recent years (I have an 2019 Rush, and have tried on 2024 Rush). Can’t say I recommend anymore.

Pretty nice pants overall...

Have used the Rush Bib for about 25 days now for both fun and work. Pros: Supper nice fit and patterning. They are protective, comfy, breathable, seem sturdy enough, and look good too. I like the long side vents. Even though only one of the goes all the way up, it is till enough to go for a #2 without having to take the pant off. Cons: 1. A double central zipper would make it much easier to pee (for men). 2. No loop to clip transceiver in the right side leg pocket (the only one with a transceiver inner pocket).

Everything about these has stood the test of time

I purchased these in 2012 (12 years ago) and they are still getting the job done. I ski about 15 -20 days per season, and never worry about the conditions. The Gore-Tex Pro still keeps me completely dry and warm with one base layer. It looks like the design has slightly changed (the angle of the top pockets) but my phone and keys go in top pockets and there is plenty of room in the thigh pockets for my kids gloves, goggles or other items on warmer days. Everything about these has stood the test of time. Zippers, buttons, and straps all continue to work perfectly year after year. If you purchase these and take care of them, they will take care of you for many years to come.

ArcTeryx - Intentional Obsolescence

These pants are made with weak fabric. The sad / insulting thing about these bibs isn't that ArcTeryx accidentally made them with a material that isn't durable, it's that they intentionally made them with a material that will wear out quickly. Am I slanderous? No - consider these facts: 1. If that wasn't the intent, why do the pro version (Ski Guide Bibs) get 140d fabric instead of 70d, for an almost identical pant? 2. If that wasn't the intent (betting AT will claim they are designed for different purposes) why can't regular folks, who keep ArcTeryx in business, buy those durable pants? Because they'd rather you buy a new $700 pair every year vs give you the option of something durable. Sad!

Why won't you let regular customers buy the pro bibs? Why do we have to buy the bibs with weak fabric?

Pros and Cons

Finally got out to use these for a 5 day trip. Pants are OK with some big misses by Arcteryx designers (which may or may not be intentional). Used in a trip that started cold (-20) and ended hot (0) with snow throughout. Hit: Nice material. Good water proofing. Stayed dry and warm underneath. Good crampon patch. Good fit with harness. Nice fit allows you to squat and move around while leaving space for layering without being baggy. Good middle ground between euro tight and snowboarder baggy. Multi material bib keeps you dry and breathes while keeping pow out. No sharp hooks on gaiters. Pockets are nicely sized. Miss: The crotch zipper either needs to be shorter or needs a second pull so that you (if youre a guy) dont need to undo your backpack and jacket to pee. Huge oversight there. The upper bib pockets dont need to be diagonal/horizontal pockets, they need vertical pockets. BOTH side zips need to go up all the way. It is not possible to use the bathroom if youre a woman or if you need to take a "bush break" without basically fully removing all your clothes, which is silly. Would be fine in a resort bib but these are most definitely not for the resort! Last complaint is minor, the leg vent zips are too close to the edge of the thigh pocket zips and when you have stuff in the pockets it can be hard to close the vents and vice versa if the vents are open it can be hard to open or close the pocket zips.

Lightweight touring ski pants

I've had a couple days of backcountry with these plants and so far so good. You should know what will you buy before you get them though. It's a lightweight highly breathable (for goretex) pants with a low denier meaning that they will be fragile. If you need a bombproof bib to ski station this isn't it. If you only ski tight trees and bushwalk a lot, also not the right product. The only complain I have is the front zipper. If you have a side full zip, you don't need a zip on front they goes all the way up. If you want to relieve yourself on the side of the trail, you need to open your jacket and unzip from the top of the bid. Pocket on the top could also be bigger with that in mind and a reverse zip install at the crouch make it easy for the access. Other than that, bomber pants if you know what they are for

Worst Bibs. DO NOT BUY!!!

Absolutely terrible. DO NOT BUY. Wore once at the resort and got multiple tears around the cuffs. Called Arc'teryx customer service and was told there's nothing they can do. For $700 you'd think their warranty would be slightly better. Not sure what Arc'teryx was thinking when they made these out of easily tearable 70D. By far the worst product Arc'teryx makes.

Poor design for backcountry use

I almost bought these and did not due to a major design flaw. There is a vent zipper on one side that opens up all the way towards the torso from the lower thigh, however on the other side it does not which is ridiculous. A lot more ventilation could be achieved with a simple extra 25cm of zipper length. If both zippers opened up from the knee to the torso then it would be a proper backcountry bib. Poor design. Sorry Arcteryx. Your products are fantastic but this one didn’t have enough thought put into it. Sad because the colour Pytheas is amazing.

These pants Vent more than enough just like they are. The one sided full zip allows to pull the pants down to do you know what. They are the true backcountry pant just the way they are. I'm on my second pr and really like the zip set up. Just need a subtle adjustment in fit as mentioned in another comment above.

Wish i'd read the other reviews first :-(

Firstly let me state that i am a proper Arcteryx "fanboy" own dozens of pieces and very happy with all of them , this is the first negative review i have felt the need to post Wish i had read the other reviews before wasting mine and the postmans time - 100% not fit for purpose. Design seems ok, fit was ok, features as expectected but the Gore-tex material used is at best tissue paper thin and im sure it wouldn't have lasted me a weeks off piste boarding without some sort of damage/tear/rip occuring. I realise its supposed to be a lighter weight bib but the choice of material is very poor. Even at the 45% off outlet price they were still not worth the money or risk so went straight for a refund.

Terrible ankle cuff design

First off I’m a big Arcteryx fan - with the exception of one pair of ski gloves I bought 9 years ago, I've found the items I have owned to be top quality. However.... these 2022/23 Rush pants have fallen way below my expectations! My skis, standard factory edge only, nothing fancy, have sliced through the ankle cuff "protection" like a knife through butter. Unlike my previous 2 pairs (1 of which was also Rush bib) where I had no problems with the ankle cuff, there's no way I'm going to get more than 2 seasons out of this pair! They're already 50% tenacious tape round my ankles! Sorry Arc - I would never recommend these pants in the current design to anyone, let alone friends.
Q: Pros:
A: Good fit
Q: Cons:
A: Pathetic ankle cuff durability
Q: Activity
A: Skiing

No, I do not recommend this product.

Close but a couple critical mistakes.

Bought them directly from Arc’teryx, had to bring back after 2 days. The bibs have two major issues. One is that the fabric (face fabric) is simply not suitable for this application at all. I got about 3 holes and two cuts in them in about 10-12 hours…..I can’t imagine these pants surviving a season which for this brand and price point is not okay. I’m about 6’ and 200lbs and they are just too long. They need to take like literally inches off the inseam and replace the fabric either entirely or add a more durable face fabric locally around the base of the pant. I looked at other reviews here and just really wanted these to work despite the other complaints but they were right these are a no go. I’d just wait for a much needed design update. I even saw two other people using them and saw they were also all cut up. Wear is part of using the gear but years not hours is what I personally expect from this brand.
Q: Cons:
A: Not usable fabric, inseam way off.

Mauvaise qualite

I want to love these but..

I’ve been wearing these things for numerous tours now and I want so badly to love them but they have a few flaws. First, I’m a lifetime Arcteryx garnet user. Many of my previous garments have fit absolutely perfectly. These do not. I don’t understand why they made such a weird fitting bib. 1) I normally always wear a M in arcteryx. Tried and true. These are too tight (skin tight) in a M so upgraded to L. The large if worn correctly hug my butt and undercarriage with no space to move around. It’s very tight. The L has more leg space but no more crotch/butt space. If I lower the bib harness to make space the pants are even more baggy. 2) the knee/lower leg material is very baggy. There is way too much material down there. I’m swimming with room for two of me in the lower leg area. But the upper thigh area and upper bib fits perfectly? I would never wear a crampon with these bibs, certain to catch the material. Otherwise, I really want to love this bib. I wonder if I had kept the M if I could have moved past the tight thighs for less material in the lower legs.
Q: Pros:
A: Love Arc’teryx, leg pockets great
Q: Cons:
A: Baggy

Poor fabric quality

I purchased those pants in December for ski touring, and within two months, the pants cracked at the back. Even though the fit is excellent, the pockets at the right place, etc., the price tag is not worth the poor fabric quality. There must be plenty of other options for Gore-Tex pants that are made to last. If you're looking to spend money and be flashy go for it, but it's not worth it as you'd probably need to buy new ones for the next ski season.

The Good the Bad and the Ugly

Just had my first day out in these bibs and normally don't post reviews but felt compelled to share my impressions. I'm 6' 210 lbs and the fit is perfect except for a super sloppy weird excess/abundance of material around the knee and shin area. Apparently Arc'teryx pants run a bit longer but why on earth would you need/want longer ski pants when regular access to buckles is necessary? Please for the love of God just err on the side of shorter more taylored fitting for such an expensive item. This would save you guys a ton of material money on these awesome investment pieces. The mid section fits perfectly with a band of stretchy material sewn into the top portion and allows for a little beer belly which helps as you get older and fatter. The pockets are perfectly placed and well though out nothing superfluous in the design. I'd also like to have the thinnest amount of insulation around the groin area for just a bit of extra warmth like my Rush IS jacket. The weird leg length and sloppy knee fit are the biggest issues with these bibs. I'm hoping i can get these altered by about 3-4 inches in the legs just to get these bibs to fit right. Better fit and thin insulation around groin and these bibs would get 5 stars.
Q: Pros:
A: Waist fit, pocket design
Q: Cons:
A: Excessively long, sloppy knee area
Q: Activity
A: Alpine skiing
