Comfortable fleece jacket. Not many features. Pretty straight forward. Expected a little more at this price point. Sleeves a little long. Could be warmer. Decent.

Relatively Warm for vancouver!

Searched for a while for a nice midlayer to go on hikes and to commute with. Have not had any problems so far with this jacket after using it for a few weeks. When layered properly it does its job well. Have not tried utilising it without an outer hard shell yet so i cannot comment on wind penetration. Overall very nice jacket would recommend!

Not a "technical" fleece, but a great mid-layer, and very classy on its own.

Because the Covert is so versatile, it represents terrific value. I wore it today on top of an Icebreaker undershirt, and with a Cerium LT and Beta AR shell. Very damp day, about - 5 C, and I was incredibly comfortable. Good wicking, full movement (while wearing 4 layers) and excellent thermal conductivity. Fits a little larger that my Beta AR, Cerium LT, Atom LT, etc., but that just makes it more comfortable on its own (e.g. while having a beer on a Saturday evening and writing this review!).

A: Just purchased it, so can't really comment.

Prosversatile (see review title) comfortable warm.

Consnone at all just understand its design ethos.

Ok.

Not bad. Nice style. Looks well built. Nice arm length for someone with long arms. Slightly shorter than I would like. at 6'1 a large barely covers my belt. Not as thick as it looks in pictures, and not very warm. No coat hanger loop??? This seems minor but is incredibly annoying. Do they expect me to put this thing on a hanger every time I walk in the door? Maddening.

Well designed and constructed but flawed

I like the cut and fit of this jacket but if you're looking for a fleece that is closed off to wind then look elsewhere. I don't know if it's the intended property of the fabric weave but it lets even a gently breeze through. In some circumstances this could be beneficial so just be aware of this if you want it as a feature of your fleece. It makes it difficult to recommend honestly as if you wanted to really make use of it in slightly wet and windy conditions you definitely would need a waterproof shell and not rely on it to keep out even the smallest breeze or dampness.

Arms too tight

I really like the covert cardigan jacket I purchased in 2014. Fabric and fit was excellent. The cut was perfect in allowing free movement, but still being trim and not baggy. I don't have big biceps, but the design of the 2015/16 product changed slightly and the upper arms are simply too tight. I don't know why Arcteryx did this, but I had to return the jacket because it was simply not as comfortable as the 2014 model.

Warm, durable, versatile

I purchased the covert cardigan (argent) because I was looking for a new fleece that was warm but also presentable enough to wear in a variety of environments. It fits very well, and I wasn't disappointed! Earlier this year I was packing for a long trip out of the country that would involve a number of multi-day backcountry hikes in chillier climates, including alpine walks in New Zealand. I hesitated whether to bring the covert cardigan as I knew it would be subject to rough treatment and many, many days of wear. In the end, I brought it because not only would it keep me warm, it also looks good enough to wear in town, to casual restaurants, etc. While I didn't hike in my covert cardigan, it became a key peace of evening attire, keeping me warm after a long day on the trail, and often through the night if really cold. I wore this fleece almost daily for months and was thoroughly impressed with its durability, warmth, and odour resistance. (I have experienced minimal pilling of the fabric, but considering how often I have worn the garment, it is very minimal.) This fleece is now a valued part of my cold weather travelling kit and I would absolutely purchase it again.

Nice fit and warm

I own two them (Harvest and Black), I simply loved them. Very confortable, warm and soft. I like the clean and casual look of it. Usaually, I'm wearing Medium, but for this one, it was a better fit in Small size. Highly recommanded.

Neck too tight

The previous similar product I bought (2011) was better made. I appreciated the lycra part at the end of sleeves. This is a good product but frankly speaking neck too tight: it is impossible to close. it fit -3 cm in comparison with the previous. 4 stitches also not so well done. What i mean: it is a little "cheap" figuring product considering your brand positioning and the use which is urban style and so to be used in offices etc.

Relaxed comfort, Arc'teryx stylee.

First thing to say about the Covert cardigan is that you should not expect the technical fitting of other Arc'teryx clothing. As described it is a relaxed fit and so it hangs from the body more and has a bit more room inside it. There are no pull cords or elasticated hems, and the fit is far simpler, setting it apart from the technical gear as apparel for the apré activities. What really catches the eye for me is the quality of the material and subtlety of the blue colour. The fabric is an excellent choice and of a very high quality. The outer surface is harder than the inner which makes me think that it will cope well with the extreme, abrasive environment of deep chairs and couches and roaring log fires. The colour is neither garish nor bland and catches my eye every time I'm reaching in the wardrobe for something to relax in. It just oozes Arc'teryx. As usual there are little details that set Arc'teryx apart. On the blue Covert there are yellow reinforcements on the inside of the zip that no one but the wearer will appreciate and the cuffs and hems are reinforced with a harder wearing fabric, adding to the longevity of the cardigan. In use it is very comfortable to wear around the house or around town. It will keep you warm and comfortable on its own, although the relaxed fit has obvious limits compared to the functionality of the technical gear. It will also go nicely with the more casual clothing it is designed to be paired with. I am yet to be disappointed with anything from Arc'teryx. Their technical gear is unrivalled and as a departure into casual clothes I am more than happy with the quality, fit and styling of the Covert cardigan.

Nice for $100

Very comfortable sweater, but at almost $200 its overpriced. It will start to pill after about a dozen washes. Still comfortable though.

Pilling is covered under warranty with this product. Arc'teryx is very confident in the longevity of their products, and if there is a pilling issue, warranty will take care of it.

Very functional and for multipurpose use

Like the new fit. Less boxy and bulky. This piece is great as a midlayer for active pursuits and still it is classy every to wear as outer wear for going out.

Nice looking good fit, kinda warm

I just wore my jacket for the first time and it was around 25 degrees. A slite breeze and the air just went through the arms but the torso felt ok. Definitely not ment to be warn alone. Good quality, looks great! I will throw on a shell plus this and see how it keeps me warm.

Comfortable Fleece Jacket

Was a little hesitant to buy this jacket after hearing poor reviews of the new fabric material, but was pleasantly surprised when the jacket arrived. I don't know what the material used to be like but I am quite happy with what Arcteryx has done. The material is soft and warm inside while looking quite classy outside. I purchased the Kyanos and it looks great. I go back and forth between M and L for arcteryx products but the M was perfect for me at 188cm and about 78kg. Really nice cut. Its definitely more of a casual use jacket, but could certainly be used for hiking and the backcountry.

warm and comfortable

No complaints so far! I've read that this new covert is not as hardy as previous models, we'll see i guess. I think if it is worn as intended, it will hold up for years. I've only had it for a few weeks, but through lots of wear I can certainly report that it is warm and cozy. I wear it as a mid layer, so it's not really exposed to the elements or abrasions.

What changed Arcteryx????

I was excited to see new colors for the"new" Covert Cardigan - I already own 5 or 6 of them in differing colors. Ordered two new sweaters from Back Country and received them yesterday. I was shocked to see the fabric seemed different than what I have grown accustomed to. In addition the cut of the sweaters is different - they did not fit and were too snug for me and I had to return them. Not sure what happened, but looks like Arcteryx made some changes, and I guess as a result I will too!! Too bad!!!! I'm a big guy and all of my sweaters are XXL - My current sweaters fit fine - these two new jackets - well, not so much. I was totally disappointed!!! Even had the jackets fit - the feel of the fabric is different and the weight is lighter - too bad Arcteryx - I own a lot of Arcteryx items, Beta AR jacket & pants, Theta jacket, and as I said 5 or six Cardigans - You lost a valued customer!!

Excellent garment, great warmth & relaxed fit!

This covert cardigan is very warm, serving as a perfect mid layer on cold days, and an outer layer on cool days. It is great for hiking, skiing and other outdoor activities. This cardigan is constructed with impeccable craftsmanship, and is also stylish. The laminated pocket zippers are rugged and should provide for long term wear. A wide range of movement is provided by the relaxed fit. I now have three of these cardigans and would not give them up. I highly recommend this garment for anyone who is serious about outdoor activities, wants to keep warm and is willing to pay the price for quality workmanship.
