Awsome jacket, broken zippers

Awsome jacket, comfy, varm and waterproof! But the zippers are not on par with quality controll. Main zipper and pocket zipper busted after 3 years normal use, customer service took the jacket inn, but refused to repair it and told me they where going to trash it?
The jacket is in good condition, it has three smal pinholes and ofcource 2 broken zipps.

Amazing down jacket

Great mid layer down jacket. I use it mainly as a mid layer when static. I sometimes use it as a stand alone piece as well when it’s not too rainy or windy. This thing is super light for how warm it is. It’s pretty surprising. I took it down to around 10F with a light long sleeve shirt underneath and was totally fine. The jacket packs down super well into its stuff sack so I always take it for travel.

Long time user of ARC’TERYX gear. Recently purchased first puffer and absolutely love it. I’m 5’11” 190lbs and the fit is perfect on the size L. I can wear something as light as a T under it or a light fleece/pullover for extra warmth. Make no mistake this jacket will keep you WARM and TOASTY at least into single digits F and maybe beyond but haven’t tested it further.

I bought this to use out on the fire line during the Palisades fires in California. It gets chilly at night on the coast. I used this jacket everyday for 2 weeks and it not only kept me warm, but it was breathable and stood up to some harsh use. I love this jacket would recommend to anyone looking. It has become my gi to.

Poor quality and bad experience

Looks very nice new and very light. BUT I bought a cerium hoody small 2 years ago. After the first use the insulation went from the front of my arms on the elbows. So I tried to wash it like they show on videos and I bought Arc’teryx soap etc.. it didn’t fix it. So I sent the jacket back and they said there was a problem so they gave me a credit to buy another one. So my first one was orange and then I bought a light grey one. It’s the same and probably worst then the first one especially with light colour. So I sent it back and they say there nothing wrong with it and don’t want to do anything. So I’m stick with an expensive jacket that looks terrible, looks like wet spot because the fleece is moving and I can feel the cold everywhere. I bought a lot of stuff from Arc’teryx but I think I’m done! The quality went down and still expensive because of the name but not worth it!

Poor Zipper

I bought this jacket for my son as a Christmas present. But as soon as he started wearing it, the zipper was not functioning well. Now after only one year of use, the zipper is completely broken. It doesn't close at all. It is very disappointing considering that high prize of this jacket and the Arc'teryx brand reputation.

Pathetic cheap zip that will fail

In a blatant cost-cutting exercise, they decided to use one of the most weak and feeble zips I've ever seen on any item of clothing. I gave it the benefit of doubt, but it failed after only 4 days use. Returned for a refund and bought a different brand. They really should know better...

I purchased this jacket on December 2024, and after only six weeks of barely using it, the down is already leaking. The feathers are settling in odd areas of the jacket, and there’s barely any left at the back, leaving me exposed. This is extremely poor quality for the price. I deeply regret purchasing it, as I was hoping it would last a good few years. I do not recommend this product at all.

This usually decreases over time. If feathers poke through, gently push them back in to avoid further damage. A down wash and dry cycle with tennis balls may also help restore loft. Rubbish build, rubbish materials.

To say the least, this jacket is disappointing and not at all what I would expect for the price tag and from the brand. I have owned it since August 2023, and have worn very infrequently over the year and 4 months (I have 6 other jackets I wear and have a work coat that I wear daily).
- the insides of the pockets have basically started to disintegrate. All I carry in my pockets are my phone, my wallet occasionally, and my fob to my flat.
- the zip pops open in the seam. This means I have to tug it out to do it back up again. It can be extremely embarrassing when I’m out and about and this happens. I bought a medium, and it is by no means tight on me. For some perspective I wear small T-shirts.
- the front of the jacket now has around 4-5 holes in them. I genuinely believe this is from the feathers themselves poking their way through the material as it is that fine and delicate, I say this as one of the holes I did notice the feather and I tried to poke it back in and noticed that it has caused a tear.
- the shoulder area has two large rips also in different places, again I believe from the same thing.
- the threading down where the zip connects to the material has began to fray all the way down.
If Arc’teryx try to resolve this issue with me I will update this review.

Lightweight Performance with Thoughtful Design

I'm really happy with the Arc'teryx Cerium jacket. It strikes a great balance between functionality and design without going overboard. The first thing you’ll notice is how incredibly lightweight it is, making it perfect for both everyday use and outdoor adventures.
What sets this jacket apart is that it doesn’t just keep you warm—it actually helps regulate your body temperature, which is a game-changer when you're moving between different environments. The hood adjustment system with the zip is another highlight—it’s simple but effective, and I didn’t realize how much I’d appreciate it until I used it.
I also love the idea of having a separate pocket to stow the jacket—it keeps things neat and organized. That said, if the stow pocket itself had been waterproof, it would’ve been even better.
Overall, it’s a thoughtfully designed jacket with excellent performance and a few minor areas for improvement. Highly recommended!

Blown zipper

2.5 stars really, based off longevity not function.
3 years into use and the zipper, specifically the insertion pin, is blown and jacket will not zip. The jacket would still be in use otherwise. While it was well used in wild places, I expected a longer life.
That said, up until that point, the jacket preformed great. It’s light, warm, and highly packable. It provides a reasonable amount of wind protection. It keeps it’s loft with light to medium saturation. I took it everywhere.
While the jacket preformed, and with me admitting that I put the jacket to the test, I will be shopping a different manufacturer when replacing and hoping for a longer life of working parts.

One of my essentials

I purchased this back in the spring of 2021 as the “Cerium LT Hoodie,” mainly because I wanted a soft and warm hood instead of wearing tight beanies. The hood fits snugly and perfectly wraps around my face, keeping cold air out. Arc’teryx is known for making premium, anatomically designed clothing that not only performs well but also looks great.
I’ve used this down hoodie for snowshoeing in northern Norway, pairing it with Polartec silk-weight base layers (top and bottom) and a thin Arc’teryx soft shell pant. This Cerium Hoodie is one of the best purchases I’ve ever made. I’ve recently ordered a new one because I wear it daily during our seven months of snow here.

Tight fitting

Be careful with M size even if you have other products of Arcteryx in size M. It is rather tight fit and I would say M is smaller than other regular M size Arcteryx products. L was definitely too big for me.

The size small fits perfectly. I'm 5'11", give or take an inch, and 155-160 fits perfectly. In my experience, the jacket has been 100% waterproof in conditions where my buddy's Colombia titanium cirque bowl jacket got saturated around the shoulders. It's warm enough to feel just right, if not a little bit hot, at 1 to -2 degrees with a Delta Hoody and Cormac shirt on underneath. Have yet to gauge the durability but it feels very solid. I also love how dense the down is. My only complaints are that the pockets began to puddle water when my hands were in them and that the hood feels very tight and I cant keep my head all the way up without it pressing on the hood and lifting the jacket (no beanie). The inner chest pocket is large enough to hold a regular-sized card holder wallet and AirPods. Love it so far. Check out my insta or tiktok to see it in action: 647.climbs

This jacket for $400 at the top of the price scale for a thin down mid layer at best could be better.My Zipper failed if you read reviews this is a common problem.They will replace the zipper but the process is long and drawn out with communication problem and you pay for shipping.I will probably look for my high performance sports clothing else where now I had always believed Arcteryx to be at the top of the field but my experience has changed that view.

Der Cerium Hoody M von Arc’teryx hat mich wirklich überzeugt. Die Jacke ist unglaublich leicht und hält trotzdem richtig warm. Ein besonderes Highlight ist die Isolierung: Arc’teryx verwendet hochwertige 850er Gänsedaune, kombiniert mit synthetischen Einsätzen (Coreloft™) an feuchtigkeitsanfälligen Stellen wie Schultern und Bündchen. Dadurch bleibt die Jacke selbst bei leichtem Schnee oder Schweißbildung zuverlässig warm. Ich trage sie beim Wandern bei -10 Grad als oberste Schicht, und sie hält mich ohne Probleme angenehm warm. Egal ob bei kalten Tagen in der Stadt oder bei Outdoor-Aktivitäten. Was mir besonders gefällt, ist die Passform. Sie liegt körperbetont an, ohne die Bewegungsfreiheit einzuschränken. Ich kann die Jacke super bequem tragen und sie fühlt sich einfach angenehm an. Ein weiterer Pluspunkt ist, dass sich die Jacke ganz einfach klein verpacken lässt. Das macht sie zu einem perfekten Begleiter für Reisen oder Wanderungen.
