Warm but too long; not as versatile as the Satoro

This base is soft and warm, but it is very long on me - a few inches shorter in the XS size would be much better for petite people (who I'm guessing would be the main purchasers of XS). I like it, but not as much as the Satoro AR Zip which you used to do for women - that one is a merino base, so much thinner while still being very warm. I can wear the Satoro under my trim-fitting Kyanite and Delta fleeces, whereas the Rho is too thick to wear under anything other than a jacket or gilet. Please bring back the Satoro AR Zip for women, and have this alongside the Rho as a thinner merino option!

As another petite woman who wears an XS, I agree that it's too long by at least an inch. The hooded version from the previous year was perfect—a little shorter and a tad less snug (and hands down my favorite baselayer of all time). Hopefully they'll make adjustments in the next iteration, at least on the XS.

Bought in black. Still in excellent condition. My body has changed over the last decade and it still fits comfortably. Worn for outdoor winter activities bl or on chilly summer evenings and wet BC days. Wear it as everyday wear. Looks smart as is or under clothes. I often wear multiple days in a row and it doesn’t ever smell. I wash it like all my other clothes and put in the dryer. Time to get a second one so I can wear everyday if I want. Might even get colour adventurous. Worth the investment.

I just received this base layer in the mail, and although I haven't gotten a chance to test it in the outdoors yet, it is SO SOFT and COZY! I now need to buy the rho bottoms to complete my winter camping base layers.

Amazing sweater for fall super comfortable and slim fit. I bought the light blue colour and went back for the navy blue one as well. Definitely a very versatile piece.

Cozy perfection

Love the body-hugging fit and longer length of this one so your lower back isn't exposed if you bend over. I'm typically a M in Arc and found this true to size. It's nice and lightweight, packs easily but feels so warm and cozy with the brushed inside. Layers nicely since the face fabric is slippery and love the high collar without a hood to get in the way. Is the perfect baselayer under a shell on a cooler day when you're still working up a sweat. I also keep finding myself wearing it on chilly mornings while camping and even just around the house since it's so nice! My only gripe is I love having thumbholes and am sad this top doesn't have them. If the next version has thumbholes I'll be upgrading for sure. As it is, I have a feeling I'll be wearing this one out.

I found the length way too long. I sized up from my usual small in arcteryx shirts as I didn’t want it to be skin tight and it was way too big. Should’ve stuck with my usual size for proper fit. Ordered awestruck colour and not as nice in person. More of a deep orange but still blinding. Returned.

I’ve never loved a base layer so much

I am obsessed with this base layer since my husband surprised me with it over a year ago for my birthday. I wear it for almost everything and have taken it on countless backpacking trips and SAR missions. It really is my go to layer. I’m a little under 6 feet and the length is excellent. My only suggestion is if you plan to use it for literally everything and you’re a messy person (guilty), maybe don’t buy a pale blue/almost white color (oops). I plan to buy a second one in a darker color soon!

My favorite light midlayer

I bought the Rho LT zip hoodie based on a recommendation at one of your stores, and now have 2 hoodies and more recently the Rho LT Zip Neck. I wore them through the winter as a light midlayer for cross country skiing and warmer weather downhill skiing. I also wore it in the fall for hiking and biking in the cool mornings. I wear them around the house, for walks around my neighborhood and feel good enough in them to even where them around town. I would highly recommend this if you are an active person.

The top I've been searching for!

I love the longer length of this top! I have a long torso and it's very difficult to find tops that are long enough. I bought it for running in colder temps, and the longer length also helps with warmth. I was thrilled to find this in a bright orange color for high visibility to drivers when I am running on the side of the road. My skin is normally sensitive to synthetic fabrics but so far this one feels great. Thanks for the great design, Arcteryx. Please keep making tops with longer lengths!

Love love LOVE this top.

The moment I put this top on, it was love. I spend a lot of time on cross country skis and running in the Winter. I am always looking for something that breathes but also keeps me warm on descents. The top is cozy without being restrictive or heavy. I layer with an Atom SL jacket or vest on colder days. Liked it so much, I bought a second. The illusion colour is much richer and greener than on the website - so nice!

Awesome top

I love this top. Initially bought one for me since I got one for my boyfriend for Christmas without thinking to much about it. Just wanted something warm fitted for cold running and XC skiing. After my trip to the snow I went back and bought another color because it is by far the best top I have. Fits great, long arms (I am 5'10'') and it breathes so I don't feel sweaty in it even when doing a hard outdoor workout. Will be back for more.

warm and comfortable

I'm 5' 1" 110 lbs, and size medium allows 2 light shirts -- both Arcteryx shirts -- under the RHO LT. I'm very satisfied with the warmth and durability. Material is good quality and has maintained it's shape after several washings.

The reason I love this is the extra length. I find most of the arcteryx products too short for me. material is nice and thick but still stretchy.

I wanted to love it

I wanted to love this Baselayer. Nice and soft, warm too. However, why is it so long? It comes down past my butt and stretches out over it. If I could hem it by 4 inches it would be perfect, but at this price I just don’t want to do that.

Comfortable and perfect for skiing and walking

I’ve worn this top walking in the Lake District in the UK and skiing in the Alps It’s supremely comfortable to wear next to the skin, with a soft touch feel and no chafing seams It’s best for spring weather. If you want a warmer top go for the all round RHO top which is thicker and warmer and also very comfortable. It washes well, no shrinkage. Lastly I really appreciate it being a longish length which means no difficulty tucking in to ski trousers and no drafts !

Perfect in Every Way

This is my third purchase of this top (in different colors) because I live in them all winter. Although the price may seem a little high, the wonderful quality (and therefore cost per wear) is absolutely worth the price. I bought my first one over a year ago and it looks as good as the day I bought it, even after numerous washings. I was a little concerned that my most recent purchase in hot coral would not be a great color, but it is very, very flattering (I am a brunette with medium toned skin). The styling is extremely flattering and follows my body’s curves without being restrictive, and the under arm gussets not only allow freedom of arm movement without any tugging on the main body, but should prevent any tearing of underarm seaming as time goes on. I cannot say enough good things about this top —- my only wish is that it will be offered for many years to ocme in additional colors.

My Favorite Cold Weather Base Layer!

I originally purchased the Satoro AR base layer, but unfortunately it was not pleastent on my skin. It made my skin itchy and irritated. I’m actually glad that happened because I really love my Rho LT! It’s the perfect base layer for backpacking. Keeps me warm, dry and so comfortable. The material is great and feels almost silky. I’ve already used it in cold temperatures and it worked wonders. Would purchase again in different colors.

Definitely runs small!

I ordered the pants first in a size small and they fit perfectly. Although I would want the first layer to be snug enough to layer over it, it's uncomfortably tight. Unfortunately I don't have time before a trip to reorder it in a medium.

Great product

I got this as a base layer for big mountain skiing out west. I love how it wicks away moisture and keeps me dry. I have long arms and the sleeves actually fit! It arrived in 2 days by UPS. I know that arcteryx has a fabulous warranty so it was worth the steep price tag. Somerset Blue colour is vibrant and beautiful. I'm 6' 150 lbs. Medium fits perfectly.

I took this to hike the "W" in Patagonia. I wore it every day. I never wanted to take it off. It's rare for me to bother to write a review, but this is a great piece. I'm going to buy my daughter one.

Comfortable soft fabric

The new design is longer than the same shirt a couple years ago. The fabric also feels a bit more stretchy than before. The patina teal colour is really nice and bright. Neck fits also really nicely.

I like it, I like it a lot

I would have one for every day of the week if I could. Comfortable, supple, soft, flattering, the Rho LT deserves all the positivity in its review. It is a super fantastic top to use as a base layer for skiing or even as an extra layer for cooler beach volleyball nights, which is when mine gets plenty of use. Strongly supportive of the fabrics, soft inside, durable and stretchy throughout, without losing its shape.
