Question 1

Should I wash these pants with a performance wash (like Grangers) or regular laundry detergent?

Rick, Arc'teryx Guest Services · Accepted Answer

Hello there, thank you for your question. We recommend using Arc'teryx Nu Technical Detergent to help maintain the performance of the fabric over time. A regular liquid laundry detergent can also be used, provided it does not contain fabric softeners, bleach, or other additives that may affect the garment's performance. For additional care guidance, please refer to our product care recommendations: https://arcteryx.com/ca/en/rebird/wash/synthetic-insulation-home-wash-guide. We hope this helps.

Question 2

Which one is better for rainy days: Clarkia or Gamma?

Seymour, Arc'teryx Guest Services · Accepted Answer

Hi there, thanks for reaching out. While both pants offer weather resistance, the Gamma Pant is the better choice for rainy days. It is a softshell pant made with Fortius™ DW 2.0 fabric and is also water repellent, which provides better protection from light rain and wind. The Clarkia Wide Leg Pant can handle the occasional light drizzle, but it is designed more for everyday wear and does not offer the same level of protection as the Gamma Pant. We hope this helps!

Question 3

For Arcteryx: Curious when more sizes be back in stock?? Thanks!

Helio · Accepted Answer

Hi there, thank you for reaching out. At this time, we do not have specific restock dates or a restock timeline for the Clarkia Wide Leg Pant. That said, availability will fluctuate as we move through the seasons, and we recommend using the "Notify Me" feature on the product page to be updated as soon as the size and colour you are looking for goes back in stock. You're also welcome to sign up for the Arc'teryx newsletter to stay updated on product drops and exclusive offers, or look to an authorized Arc'teryx retailer for any additional item availability.

Question 4

Is the clarkia fabric a lighter weight than the gamma? Is the inseam on the clarkia the same as the gamma?

Luna · Accepted Answer

Hi Rhonda, thank you for your question. Both the Clarkia Wide Leg Pant and the Gamma Pant use fabrics that are similar in overall weight, though they differ in construction and feel. The Clarkia features a 70d x 160d nylon plain‑weave fabric with FC0 DWR, offering durability for climbing and contact with rock. The Gamma Pant uses our Fortius™ DW 2.0 woven double‑weave softshell, which provides durability along with added stretch and wind protection for a wider range of mountain activities. While the Clarkia is designed with a relaxed fit and the Gamma with a fitted fit, the inseam length is the same for both models. We hope this helps!

Question 5

It looks like there's some sort of ankle strap to tighten the pant at the ankle? Is that right or am I looking at the photos incorrectly? if yes, where is it located?

River, Arc'teryx Guest Services · Accepted Answer

Hello LeeR, yes, you’re seeing it correctly. The Clarkia Wide Leg Pant features an adjustable pant‑cuff drawcord that lets you tighten the hem at the ankle for a more tapered fit when needed. The drawcord is discreetly integrated inside the cuff, so you can customize the silhouette without affecting the clean look of the pant. We hope this helps!

Are these discontinued? (Clarkia wide leg pant)

Question 7

Dave · Accepted Answer

Hi Tati. While we do not have an exact return date for the Clarkia Wide Leg Pant, stock will fluctuate as we move through the seasons. We recommend using the “Notify Me” feature, subscribing to Arc'teryx emails for up-to-date information on products, or looking to authorized Arc’teryx retailers for any additional item availability.

Question 8

Are these a mid-rise or more of a high-rise style pant?

Seymour, Arc'teryx Guest Services · Accepted Answer

Hi Brit, thanks for reaching out. In our base size 4, the Clarkia Wide Leg Pant has a front rise of 26.0 cm, which makes it a mid-rise style. We hope this helps!

Question 9

Does the nylon material make a lot of noise as you walk and move?

River · Accepted Answer

Hello Bailey, the Clarkia Wide Leg Pant is made with a durable stretch nylon fabric, which does tend to produce more audible swishing sounds during movement compared to cotton alternatives. This is a common trait of synthetic materials like nylon, especially in looser silhouettes like wide-leg designs.

Question 10

how to untighten the drawcord? I tightened the pant drawcord but couldn't loosen it.

River · Accepted Answer

Hello Belinda, thanks for reaching out! The Clarkia Wide Leg Pant actually has two adjustable features: a ladder lock waist buckle and a drawcord at the hem. If you're trying to loosen the waistband, gently feed the strap back through the buckle in the opposite direction, it may need a little wiggle to release tension. For the hem, the drawcord can be loosened by gently sliding the toggle and pulling the cord outward to release the cinch. We hope this helps!
