SuperCap, also known as Zhongshan Weili Textile Co., is owned by Taiwan-based Tiger Growth Assets Ltd. This large company with nearly 1,300 employees came to our attention in 2012 when we were looking beyond basic ballcaps to make products more suitable to our highly active consumers. We wanted a cap that could be rolled into a tiny ball, stuffed into a pocket and taken out without any wrinkles or damage.

SuperCap stepped up where others might have hesitated and helped guide us with its extensive cap-making experience. The team had not created anything in line with our version of technical ballcaps before, but they wanted to work with Arc’teryx and were up for the challenge. We pushed them with our need for compressibility and durability, which required the employees to learn new gluing and pressing techniques.

For the 2019 season, we approached SuperCap with designs for a line of caps that would be super lightweight, moisture-wicking, and highly breathable. Once again, the team at SuperCap supported our vision. They found material that would work for our designs and agreed to keep the technology exclusive to Arc’teryx.

The company also aligns with Arc’teryx values by having third-party certifications for environmental management and health and safety (ISO14001 and OHSAS 18001).

SuperCap now makes most Arc’teryx ball caps. They are always willing to continue push boundaries, and as a highly competent and loyal vendor, SuperCap is a valued part of the Arc’teryx family.
