These felt great right out of the box. The Norvan has performed well in mud and on rock without loosing any traction. So far they have been great light weight trail shoes. I will say I had to size down. I typically wear 8W and went with the 7.5W, and I still have a roomy toe box.

Brilliant do-it-all trail shoe

Really thrilled with this generation of the Norvan trail runner. It's definitely going to be a daily driver around the Wasatch this summer ... the light weight helps on long energy-sapping days, and the grip is holding well on loose gravelly trails in the SLC foothills. The rubber they used on the soles is billed as "mud-shedding" and I've put that to the test—they do indeed shed mud nicely, which I appreciate so much ... getting mud caked on is always a pain and a slow-down. The lace garage is working well--tie the laces in a bow, then tuck them into the stretchy bow-holder to stay put for your whole run. I chose the Rune/Dark Arctic Silk color because in real life it's a pretty pale pink; I was worried they'd look dirty quickly, but after several outings the shoe's exterior seems to shed dirt and resist scuffs well.

I really do love the new Norvan design this year. I feel like the top is more breathable and the sides are more water and mud resistant. The tread feels like it has more tractions when I am going downhill on mud and the shoe feels a lighter. Excited to break these in more on spring trails.

Great lightweight trail runners!

These shoes are so light you forget you're wearing them! I've taken them on a few trails already and have found them to be super responsive, lightweight, and great traction on rock. The soles are surprisingly cushiony and I don't feel every little rock I'm running over.
I did find that they run a little larger than LD3s. I am usually a size 8.5 for LD3 and found myself right in between an 8 and 8.5 for LD4.

Lightweight and responsive!

Absolutely love the new Norvan LD 4 shoes!! These are my go to shoe for long runs on the trails. They are lightweight, breathable, and responsive. They are built with Vibram Megagrip on the bottom to ensure you dont slide off those slippery rocks. One of my favorite features is the shoe lace garage. This allows the laces to stay secure so they don’t get in the way! Overall these are my absolute favorite trail running sneakers!! They are true to size and run a bit narrower.

Leightweight and comfortable shoe!

Shoes are incredibly lightweight - perfect for longer runs where weight really matters. Good cushion balance for trail purposes. Spacious around the toes, I would consider sizing half a size down for my more narrow feet. I am also always looking for more neutral shoe colors, so I love the sleek black!

Favorite pair of trail runners

Fantastic trail running shoes that excel in technical terrain and wet, muddy conditions typical of the PNW. Very stable and grippy, as well as comfortable and supportive (from short 5k runs through ultra marathon distances). This pair is even better than my previous pair of Norvan trail runners (which I also enjoyed and found to be a great shoe).
A note about sizing: I normally wear a size 5.5 in most trail running shoes, but for Norvan shoes (and other Arc'teryx shoes), 5.5 is too big and I have to size down to 5

I've been testing these shoes for a while now and I've been loving them for my North Vancouver runs that are on more technical terrain like the Baden Powell. Really good ground feel and stability and still super comfortable. Looking forward to summer adventures in these!
