Oh, Arc’teryx, why? Your sizing is a complete mess! An M is now a fitted M, while your L feels more like a baggy XL. You’ve essentially skipped over the true L size altogether! Even your own sizing guide reflects this: UK 38 is listed as an M, but instead of offering a UK 40 L, you jump straight to a UK 42, call it an L, but 42 is an XL in standard international sizing. Why have you abandoned a key size? Even the shop assistant admitted that everyone in store is saying the same thing. How can a global brand with access to so much data on men’s sizing make such a baffling decision? I’m an M in some brands and an L in others, but with Arc’teryx, I’ve always been a reliable UK 40 (L). Now, thanks to your new sizing system a true L is gone—replaced by UK 42 - mislabeled as L. And the sleeves? Don’t get me started. At 178cm with an athletic build—a very average size—the sleeve lengths are ridiculously long. Many others have pointed this out too. Your sizing is not just confusing, it’s alienating loyal customers. Please rethink this. Skipping sizes and offering such inconsistent fits isn’t what we expect from a brand of your stature.

The 5 stars are for initial Quality and fit. Can’t comment on performance yet as haven’t really tested it yet. But every Arcteryx jacket I have ever had hasn’t let me down. I’m 5ft 7inches tall broad shoulders and 34inch waist build. 43 inch chest. Medium fits well. Enough room for a down jacket layer underneath. Collar of jacket fits really well with ample space to hide my face from the elements. Sleeve length is fine. I take a 33inch sleeve in a shirt. The hem of the jacket is quite snug but movement is not restricted due to cut of jacket. My advice is size down one from your normal. To the Arcteryx size guide I was a large. Which I tried last year and it was ridiculously oversized. Overall. First impressions are Good.

There is no isolation in the jacket, kind of expensive just for a wind/rain coat !

I’m 5’8”, 160 lbs, with an athletic build, and was looking to upgrade from my older Beta AR. Unfortunately, the sizing of this jacket is a major letdown, particularly with the sleeve length. As many other reviewers have pointed out, the sleeve length is simply ridiculous. A size small fits me perfectly in the chest and waist, but the sleeves reach all the way to my fingertips. While the Velcro cuffs allow you to cinch them, the excess material feels bulky and restricts movement. The sleeve length of the XS is much better (my Beta is an XS), but the chest is now uncomfortably tight. The updated sizing approach—where dimensions become progressively trimmer or wider as you go down or up a size—was a poor decision in my eyes. It feels more reminiscent of fashion clothing vs functional apparent for athletes who are not all thin and long. I’ve run out of options for an Arc’teryx ski jacket (Sabre, Macai, Rush all fit similarly), which is incredibly disappointing considering they are the best in the game!

Last yea I have bought a Sabre jacket and it is has been a fantastic jacket! The fit is perfect and I could fit either my atom or my down jacket underneath depending on the weather conditions. I could highly recommend this combination

Bought this jacket in 2022. The fit was perfect (6ft / 190lbs) and it has held up to some very abusive wear across Washington, Canada, Austria, Iceland, and more (200 days). The jacket is durable and has shown slight wear at the bottom seam but it is still on track to net another 200 days at least.

Jacket is well fitted with really solid construction. Should last a long time and perform well.

I’ve had this jacket for a couple of years now. It still holds the same quality as it was Brand new. Its perfect for Touring and other winter activities. Would absolutley recomend!

Year after year the colorways disappoint. The "strategic" release of one jacket color being released every few weeks to months is annoying. For a jacket to be made in China and shipped to Canada/US, Arcteryx knows months in advance what colors they are releasing. Hopefully Mr. Wilson can fix this.

I got this jacket for the upcoming winter when I take my dogs for a walk, I’ve already been caught in the rain a few times and the jacket has been unbelievable. It looks very stylish and I’m very happy with my purchase I’d highly recommend them to my family and friends, I’ll also be buying more products in the future guaranteed.

I recently purchased the Arc’teryx windproof and waterproof softshell jacket, and I’m very satisfied with my overall experience. It feels comfortable to wear, and the breathability is great, making it suitable for various outdoor activities. During a recent hiking trip, the jacket offered excellent protection. Even when I encountered light rain, there was no issue with water penetration. Additionally, the fit is tailored and allows for a full range of motion without feeling restrictive. The only minor drawback is the price, which is on the higher side. However, considering its quality and durability, I believe this investment is worth it. If you’re looking for a high-performance softshell jacket, I highly recommend this Arc’teryx product.

Fantastic jacket, incredible quality. Keeps the storms out when skiing

I got this jacket after already loving this brand for the quality and designs of the products. My shell I've used for over 10 years that was issued to me while in the service finally started to fall apart from the inside causing me to need a replacement. Deciding on what to replace with was difficult, but decided on this sabre jacket. I love the design, features, and quality of the product. Only found 1 flaw, and that was the length of the sleeves. while the chest, shoulders, and upper arm fit perfectly. Then legnth of the sleeves were a bit excessive. I know being 5'7, I am not tall, but having a huge amount of excess made it a bit uncomfortable with gloves on.

Finally bit on the arc kit and couldn’t be happier. Skied colder days just as well as warm spring days. Arc makes some Swiss Army knife shells and highly recommend the Sabre kit. I’m 5’10” 200lbs and xl in both fits me perfectly for layering with a bit of bagginess, as I prefer. Super pumped on the kit and should last me a very long time.

The quality was pretty disappoints and this jacket fits loose and is not worth it’s retail

Had a Beta AR for 10 yrs . Bought a Sabre jacket this time out. Skied with the new jacket and love it. Highly recommend this jacket for all your Alpine needs

This seems to be the end of the Arc'teryx athletic fit. I am 6'2", 175lbs, and have been wearing Arc'teryx for 15 years because they have always had a nice trim fit with enough room in the shoulders. No more with this revised fit. I always wear a size large, and in this jacket the cut across the back of the shoulders is way too tight. I can't cross my arms without the fabric pulling, and bending over to strap in results in the sleeves riding up and the fabric pulling tight across my shoulder blades. The articulation is also not as good as previous jackets. The sleeves ride way up my arms and the jacket rides up when I raise my hands. Sizing up to an XL would result in way too much material in the mid section and sleeves that are too long. This new cut is very disappointing and not designed for people with an athletic build anymore.
