Question 1

I have an older pair of sv gloves. Is this a two part construction. Outer waterproof. Inner insulated glove

Helio, Arc'teryx Guest Services · Accepted Answer

Hi Glen, thank you for your question! The FW25 Fission SV Glove has a single integrated construction that combines waterproofing, insulation, and outer protection. It features an internal GORE-TEX ePE bladder, which refers to a thin, sealed insert inside the glove that acts as a waterproof and breathable barrier. This prevents water from passing through while allowing moisture vapor from sweat to escape, keeping your hands dry and comfortable. For warmth, the glove uses Coreloft™ Compact Gold Insulation, which performs well in wet conditions. The outer layer is a softshell material that provides added stretch and abrasion resistance for durability. While these gloves have multiple layers and materials working together, they are built into one complete unit rather than a separate inner insulation layer and then an outer waterproof layer. We hope this helps!

Question 2

Hi, Can you operate touch screen with the gloves on? thumb and index finger at least?

Seymour · Accepted Answer

Hi there, thanks for reaching out. The Fission SV Glove is not touch screen compatible. At this time, the only touchscreen-compatible gloves we offer are the Gothic Gloves and the Rho Gloves. We hope this helps!

Question 3

how warm is under -15?

Helio, Arc'teryx Guest Services · Accepted Answer

Hi there, thank you for reaching out. The Fission SV Glove is our warmest winter glove. It features 133 gsm (grams per square meter) Coreloft™ insulation, which provides excellent warmth for its weight, and a GORE-TEX ePE insert for waterproof, breathable protection. While we don't assign specific temperature ratings to our products, since warmth can vary based on factors such as activity level and personal comfort, the Fission SV is built for extremely demanding cold-weather environments. We hope this helps!

Question 4

Can these gloves be washed with Nu Technical Detergent? If not, which detergent do you recommend? Should I use DWR treatment and leather gel (or other leather care products)? Thank you very much.

Helio · Accepted Answer

Hi Johan, that's a great question! For the Fission SV Glove, we recommend hand-washing only, using a mild detergent in cold water. Although you can use Nu Technical Detergent, please note that it is not necessary. We advise against using any wash-in treatments or machine washing, as these can compromise the glove’s performance. When washing your gloves, please be sure to keep the outer shell inside-right (i.e. do not turn the glove inside out). After washing, hang the gloves to air dry, keeping them at least one meter away from direct heat sources like radiators or heaters. Please do not use a tumble dryer to dry your gloves. DWR treatment and leather care products are also not necessary for this glove. For the full care instructions, feel free to visit our care page here: https://arcteryx.com/us/en/help/product-care/wash-dry-everything-else/. We hope this helps!

Question 5

how is the dexterity?

Seymour · Accepted Answer

Hi there, thanks for reaching out. The Fission SV Glove is patterned with maximum articulation for greater dexterity. This allows you to handle detailed tasks with confidence without needing to remove the gloves. We hope this helps!

Question 6

I'd like to know if these fission sv gloves contain Goretex? I saw the logo in the product image, but I can't find any information on the detail page. Thank you.

Seymour · Accepted Answer

Hi there, thanks for reaching out. The Fission SV Glove is made with a GORE-TEX ePE liner, providing waterproof and breathable protection. We hope this helps!

Question 7

Is it ok to use Grangers Waterproofing Wax (which is designed to be used on leather) on the leather parts of these ?

Sophie · Accepted Answer

Hello, thank you for your question! We recommend following the guidelines provided on our ReCARE page and the care instructions found on the product tag or Product Care webpage. Unfortunately, we cannot endorse specific products outside of those recommendations. If you have any further questions, feel free to reach out! https://arcteryx.com/ca/en/help/product-care/wash-dry-everything-else

Question 8

Once the Fission SV Glove has been washed/cleaned if the leather looks like it's drying out or if the leather is soaking in water when out in the rain. What product would you recommend to use on the leather parts to add waterproofing back to the leather.

River · Accepted Answer

Hello Talster, if you’ve washed the Fission SV Gloves and noticed that the leather isn't performing as it used to, we recommend filling out a Product Service Request form. Our After-Sale team will be happy to take a closer look and assist you further.https://arcteryx.com/ca/en/help/product-service/service-request

Question 9

I suffer from Raynauds and was wondering which would be the warmer between the Fission SV glove and the Fission SV mitten.

Sophie · Accepted Answer

Hi there! These are both great options for cold climates, however, while gloves offer better dexterity and control, mittens typically provide more warmth due to your fingers all being in close contact with one another. If you are looking specifically for warmth, we would suggest the Fission SV Mitten.

Question 10

I use Grangers Performance Repel Plus spray on waterproofer on my Arc'teryx Beta AR jacket and I was wondering will this product be suitable to apply to the none leather parts of these gloves to re-add the waterproofness of these gloves.

Sophie · Accepted Answer

Hi there, since these gloves have leather, we strongly suggest extra caution when applying a water-repellant spray. You are welcome to use it on the Gore-Tex parts of your gloves if necessary, but avoid the leather parts as best you can.
