I love my atom hoody! It has a flattering but also comfortable fit. I use it for very cold days or for more low-output activities such as belaying or slower moving activities. The material feels very light and it packs down small!

When I don't know what puffy to bring, I bring the Atom. While it is maybe not the "best" at anything, it is great for everything, making it a trustworthy, versatile, and solid companion for just about any mountain outing. My go to for most adventures!

I've been using the Atom Hoody for the past 7 years and have loved it since day 1. Not only is it light enough that you can wear it on warmer adventures and more cardio based activities (trail running, hiking, etc), but I also feel that it is the perfect weight for trips where you're waiting around. It provides just enough insulation that you feel comfortable. Packability is also amazing, fits into most bags, even if I'm short on space. Lastly, the durability of this piece is incredible! I've had one of the original Atom LT Hoodies since 2018 and it still works great! I love my Atom Hoodies!!

Remains my go-to after all these years

For years (and three Atoms) this remains my most-used layer. For milder temps I wear it as an outer jacket, and in colder temps it's a perfect mid-layer (on top of a baselayer and beneath a shell). The cuffs have a great feel and fit nicely under gloves. The hood as well as the high collar are a perfect fit, nicely protective with or without a helmet. Overall this jacket just feels good (and it looks good too). It's a standby!

When 4/5 people in your group are wearing the same jacket, you know it's a good one. The Atom Hoody is my year-round jacket - the one I bring on every trip and the layer that's in my backpack if I'm not wearing it. The hood fits over all my helmets and layers well under the hoods of shells, too. It's the perfect, breathable mid layer that I also just wear as a jacket more often than not. An essential!

I love this jacket so much - it is my go-to in all seasons! I wear this jacket constantly as a stand alone jacket when the temperature is a little cooler in spring/summer/fall. In the winter, it layers easily under a shell or other jacket for added warmth. I use this often as a casual jacket in the city or mountains. For activity in cold winter weather (around -20C), I will layer a merino base layer underneath and this keeps me toasty warm to run or cross country ski.

Go to all around jacket!

I really love this product. I have three of them and I never leave the house without one. It's great for when I'm rock climbing and I need to throw a quick layer on to stay a little warm. When it's cooler it out climbing, I'll wear this under a shell or a puffy to maximize the warmth. I really like that it keeps me warm when I'm wet too. I use this as part of my layering system when I'm ice climbing as well. This is my go to mid-layer and I pair it with a shell and a puffy when I'm belaying and I'll just go with just the Hoody and a shell for when I'm climbing. I also just love having it on when I'm working in the office and the AC is blasting and I need to stay warm at my computer. Truly my favorite product!

Best midlayer

The best midlayer out there. The Atom hoody is known as the go-to jacket across many sports and activities for a reason. It layers well, has a super warmth-to-weight ratio, has a helmet hood that stays put, and also looks great. I use my Atoms in every season - as a backpacking layer for cool mountain nights in the summer, an an outer layer during high output winter activities and an inner layer in cold temps. It's great as streetwear as well. I have very little criticism of this jacket - one might be that it can snag against trees if not careful.

This is a really great jacket. I’m 5’8 I have long arms…perfect fit. Material is light weight. I wear it for work. Really comfy. The color is a true navy. I do not regret my purchase. It’s warm, I do have to take it off some times but that justifies how great of an everyday coat it is.

Disappointed

So so so disappointed in the purchase of this jacket. After owning it for barely three months, wearing it a few times snowboarding and casually around town then hem on one side is full of holes and tears. You would think a hefty price tag and the reputation of Arc’teryx having quality gear would mean this would hold up but I’ll be going back to my HH jacket I’ve had for five years and put through the ringer and it’s still intact. I was very gentle with this new coat and I thought it would last longer but I’m pretty disappointed in the quality. I’m also disappointed in Arc’teryx when I emailed them about this.

New travel jacket!

I purchased this as a mid-weight travel jacket and it was just right. Went to Peru and both hiked and city-walked - temps at night were down to 44 F and up to 75 F during the day. The weight and warmth were perfect (I wore a light alpaca sweater with it for cooler nights and mornings). It squishes to next to nothing for packing. It will be coming with me to a trip to Scotland later this summer. I ordered the M (without layers I could do a small but didn't want it to be tight).

I love my Atom jacket. It is one of my favourite. It's warm, easy to pack either on multi-day hikes or on day trips as a layer. I've worn it before as a base layer on freezing snowboarding days up the mountain. All this to say, it's super versatile, comes in fun colours. If you are curvy or have a bit of wider hips like me, I'd recommend sizing up for extra comfort if you want to wear layer under. For example, I normally am between a small or medium but I got a medium so it's not as hugging/form fitting. This is also my jacket in the spring months where the mornings are chilly on my walking commute to the gym. Keeps me warm.

Love using this as a stand alone coat while running errands, walking the dogs, or a light hike. For colder days this is under all my shell jackets or heavy pieces as I run cold. Even with layers, it vents well. Love the fit.

I love this jacket! I wear it walking around the city, in the backcountry, skiing and running. It is warm enough to wear under my shell jacket but light enough I can easily stuff it in my pack.
