Question 1

If I use a xs in the women's covert cardigan, do I have to size up on the Kyanite due to the more fitted design?

Amelie, Arc'teryx Guest Services · Accepted Answer

Hello, thank you for reaching out. The Covert Cardigan and Kyanite are designed with different fits, so they should fit differently on the body. To find the best fit, we recommend comparing your full body measurements to our size chart, as this will give you the most accurate guidance for a comfortable fit. If your measurements are between sizes, select a larger size for a looser fit or a smaller size for a tighter fit. We hope this helps!

Question 2

Does the Women's Kyanite run on the small or large size?

Helio, Arc'teryx Guest Services · Accepted Answer

Hi Leila, thank you for your question. The Kyanite Hoody features our fitted fit, which is designed to sit close to the body through the chest and waist. The low profile of the Kyanite is made to move with the body and fit comfortably under outer layers. For your reference, here are the key measurements in size Small (base size):

Chest Width: 93cm
Waist Width: 89cm
Center Back Length: 65.4cm

We hope this helps!

Question 3

What’s the difference between the Kyanite and Covert jacket? Other than the Covert not having a hooded version. Thanks.

Luna · Accepted Answer

Hi there, thanks for your question! Both the Kyanite Hoody and Covert Cardigan are warm fleece layers, but they’re designed for different purposes.

Kyanite Hoody: Built for low-to-medium output mountain activities. It uses Polartec® Power Stretch® Pro fabric for excellent freedom of movement, abrasion resistance, and a soft, comfortable feel.
Covert Cardigan: Designed for everyday wear. Its Alpenex II™ fleece has a heathered finish that gives it a wool-like look, and is perfect for casual use around town.

If you need a fleece that provides warmth and abrasion resistance during active pursuits, the Kyanite Hoody is a great choice. For a stylish, cozy layer for daily wear, go with the Covert Cardigan. We hope this helps!

Question 4

Is the Kyanite hoodie the same length as the Kyanite jacket?

Seymour, Arc'teryx Guest Services · Accepted Answer

Hi BeepBoop, thank you for reaching out. The Kyanite Hoody is a bit longer than the Kyanite Jacket. For example, in a size M, the center back length of the Kyanite Hoody is 66.7 cm, while the Kyanite Jacket measures 61.4 cm.

Question 5

is it windproof

River · Accepted Answer

Hello there, the Kyanite Hoody is not windproof; it’s a stretch fleece hoody designed for thermal performance. If you’re seeking a windproof option, we recommend checking out our GORE-TEX shells.

Question 6

How warm? Below 40 but above freezing?

Seymour, Arc'teryx Guest Services · Accepted Answer

Hi there, thanks for reaching out. The Kyanite Hoody is a versatile piece designed to keep you comfortable during ski tours, crisp fall mornings at camp, and those chilly days spent bouldering. Since many factors can affect warmth from person to person, we don’t assign specific temperature ratings to our garments.
