Question 1

I am a 34 waist and 30 inseam. Which size would work best?

Dave · Accepted Answer

Hi Chris, great question! With the measurements provided, we would recommend going for a size M, however, please keep in mind the inseam might fit long. We recommend visiting our sizing chart for more information.

Question 2

Can these be used under shorts for hiking? I am a 38 waist and with a 35.5 inside leg. What size do you recommend?

Sophie · Accepted Answer

Hi John, these could be worn under shorts for hiking as they are a versatile thermal base layer which would perform well for various activities. They are moisture-wicking, offer light warmth, and stretch with odor-resistant Torrent™ fleece. For a 38-inch waist, we recommend size L for a snug fit, but you can order multiple sizes for comparison and keep the one that fits best, as we offer free returns within 30 days.

Question 3

What kind of drawstring if any is on the waist band?

Dave · Accepted Answer

Hi there. The Rho LT Bottom does not feature a drawstring but it features an elastic waistband.

Question 4

Question 5

Under Materials & Care for all of your items including this one, can you include your recommended wash agent (technical versus down Nu detergent)?

Seymour, Arc'teryx Guest Services · Accepted Answer

Hi Dave, thanks for reaching out. We really appreciate your feedback, as we want to make caring for your garments as straightforward as possible. We’ll be sure to pass your suggestion along to our team for future consideration. To clarify, Nu Down Detergent is only needed for products that contain down. For the Rho LT Bottom, we recommend washing with a mild, unscented detergent. You can find more information on caring for your garments on our ReBIRD Product Care page here: https://arcteryx.com/ca/en/help/product-care/wash-dry-everything-else/

Question 10

I just gave a pair of these to my husband.  I live in mine all winter and adore them.
“No fly?”, he asked.
Is that really intentional?  It was a detail I never thought about.

Creston · Accepted Answer

Hi there,

As the Rho AR and LT bottoms have been designed to be used as base layers, keeping materials to a minimum will be crucial in keeping them lightweight. In order to keep them thermally efficient and insulate properly, we also wanted to limit the number of openings that would expose the wearer to the elements.

We appreciate your feedback but generally, these types of base layers and tights will not feature a fly in the design. If you have any additional questions, please feel free to contact our Customer Service Line at 1-866-458-2473 (available Monday-Friday 8:00 AM- 5:00 PM PST).
