The current Gamma Pant has been updated with FC0 materials to help reduce environmental impact, and its design now leans more toward climbing performance, prioritizing durability and lightweight construction. That said, we know these changes aren’t always to everyone’s preference, especially if you valued the original balance of ruggedness, flexibility, and comfort for hiking and trekking. Not as good as the previous version!

I have had 3 pairs of the previous Gamma pants and they are miles better then this new version. The new fit is so weird, there is so much space in the bum area and you have to pull them right up so they dont sag down like a nappy. Also way too tapered on the lower leg. Just all round worse then the previous model. Not worth the money especially at £180. If i hadnt taken the tags off hastily i would have returned. Disappointing.

3 pocket pant, really?

I have 5 pair of these pants. These pants are a spin off of the Palisade pant and have been great up to now. No more rear pockets, why? Only one size pocket, why? And material that releases microplastics during every wash, why? Whoever thought this was a good idea needs fired. Bring back the previous version. Or better yet, bring back the Palisade pant. This version is trash.

Good but could be great.

Fit is really good. Not too baggy, not so skinny. The material allow free movements. Should thing about a product with some Zippers to transform in shorts… or some ventilation like Fjallraven did on some models.

Really comfortable

A really comfortable pair of trousers, the fit is excellent and they are designed to allow large steps up on the hills. I’ve been out in them in about 8 or 9 degrees C and they’re comfortable.

Fit is a problem

Arc'teryx seems to be losing their way on sizing. You never know from one year to the next nowadays how a certain model will fit. It seems things are generally going wider, tops and bottoms. I guess they're going for a mainstream fashion market? The gamma pant is a disappointment in this regard. Previous models fit well. They also had a soft touch inner waist. I returned the most recent ones. Looked baggy and loose. The materials and finish seem to be good. So if they fit you right, you'll probably be happy.

New uniform pant

I wear these at the fire station, I’m an XO so there’s no interior firefighting anymore but we have lots of trails, rivers, waterfalls, and nature preserves. They look great, they’re extremely comfortable and the sizing is spot on. I take a flak for the subtle logo on the thigh but who cares. They transition from the office to the field quite well and without extraneous flaps and pockets. I’m sure the fabric will not fade, time will tell how long they’ll look this well.
