A great durable bag with many pockets making it easy to find your things. When the bag isnt loaded it carries much lighter than a 40L.

Really wanted to love this bag

I really wanted to like this bag but the other comments here catch the main issues - it’s just very awkward to zip and unzip quickly; definitely not an every day carry - maybe good for a zip it and forget it situation?

Hmmmmm really is a hmmmmm item. Lots of compartments but really this is a £30 bag if it wasn’t Arcteryx. Low key but really expensive for what it is

Perfect carry on size. Fits under the seat easily and over head in the airplane. Keeps everything organized too

This is great to hear as this is exactly what I thought this bag looked perfect for. I wanted to pair it as a personal item to use with my duffle carry on that I can carry on my back. Were you able to store it under your seat with it fully or partially packed? Also what airlines did you try it on?

Major design flaw

Having used the index bags for years I was happy to see this back as a concept. Perfect to bring on any trip as extra check-in luggage when overshopped. Unfortunately two things have gone wrong since the departure of the index cases:
1. The bag opens up the wrong way. If you pick it up using the handle or strap and the case is not fully closed things will fall out (unless insides are closed too). This includes anything stored in the outer compartment as well which means that every time you open the main compartment the side compartment has to be closed or everything will fall out. Since I use this a lot when camping there will be a lot of opening and closing and flipping the bag over (with pockets open). This also means it’s impossible to reach the outer compartment from the side when bag is open and flat. To reach the compartment you have to close the bag which means that the outer compartment will turn upside down.
2. Some version of the Index had different coloured zippers for the main and the inside which made it quick to pull the right one.
