Great everday pant

Overall great everyday pants. Short length with tapered fit for me (just under 5'7") is great. I like the waist cinch and use the side leg pocket all the time. Plus they don't ride down when putting anything with weight in it. Crotch is a bit roomy but I do have small/athletic hips. Biggest peeve is they are noisy. I've even had comments from others so these are my 'noisy pants'.

Great all around pants

I have 2 pairs of these and they are the best climbing pants I've owned. Really comfortable and lightweight. My first pair is still holding up after 5 years of climbing.

Great fitting pants

As the owner of a several jackets, I had not yet tried pants from Arcteryx being petite. I was in search of a quality light hiking pant and decided to try the Gamma Lightweight Pant. I was thrilled to see it being offered in a short length in addition to Regular and Tall. I wasn't 100% certain if the inseam would still be too long but lo and behold, they are perfect, just slightly longer than ankle length. I am 5'1" and ordered the size 2-S. They are extremely lightweight and appreciate that the integrated belt actually works but would have also preferred belt loops so that I could use my own belt.

Very strange fit

I purchased this as a gift for my wife. She loves the Kyla Pant and customer service suggested that this new Gamma Lightweight Pant was a replacement. The Gamma is very odd! the legs are super short like high-waters or capri length, and the waist is so high the pants fit like really bad 'mom-jeans'.

Nice fabric, poor fit

I have both the Gamma Pants and Gamma shorts which I love and wanted another lightweight pant I could use for hiking. While the Gamma Pants are fitted and the adjustable belt is great, the Gamma Lightweight pant bags in the rear and thigh area and become looser even after wearing for an hour which is why I returned them. In addition, the built in adjustable belt/strap (unlike the Gamma pants) isn't able to be tightened enough to have the pants stay up comfortably.

Nice Pants, bad button

Good pants, nice and light. Great with two thigh pockets. I would like to see a more effective button as it is useless. The belt is what keep it up. I would like the bottom cuff a little wider to stay over the top of hiking boots.

Favorite climbing pants!

Love these pants! I bought the previous version about 2 years ago, and they are by far my favorite pair of climbing and hiking pants. They are lightweight enough that I can wear them on hot midwestern days. They've held up really well to climbing on many types of rock. Nice, mid-rise, comfortable fit.

Good for everyday-wear, less so for climbing

I work as an outdoor educator, and bought these pants for day-to-day wear, but also for climbing. I found they fit the bill for work wear, with many pockets and a professional-looking cut, but were a tad too narrow and low-rise to really move with me while climbing. I found I also have to cinch in the waist a LOT to get them to stay up when I have anything heavy in my pockets, like my phone or keys.

Quality has gone down

These pants used to be so bomber - I owned several previous versions. But the new version was significantly less quality which is such a bummer. Mine seem to have pulled on both legs and ripped on the pocket after light use which is crazy considering my 2020 version of these same pants were put through the ringer. The fit is awesome and the short cut is perfect so I’m so sad they got damaged so quickly.

I bought these pants about a month ago and I am very happy that I did it. They were perfect for hot weather where I traveled. l really impressed with the quality . Nice material, but shorter than the regular gamma

I ordered these online and was disappointed to find that they are 2 inches shorter in the inseam than my other Gamma Pants. I double checked and did get the regular length, but for whatever reason, these lightweight ones are made shorter, and only come to my ankle, where the other ones rest on my shoe tops and help keep dirt out of my shoes. Otherwise, they are made with a nice light material, functional sized pockets and the Void colour is a pretty dove grey.

Best Pants for Rock Climbing and Hiking

These pants have quickly become one of my absolute favorites. I'm a petite individual, standing at 5 feet tall and weighing 110 pounds. Initially, I opted for the size 0S, but in hindsight, I'm thinking I should have gone for the size 2S due to my wider hips.
I primarily use these pants for both hiking and rock climbing. When it comes to rock climbing, I put them to the test both indoors at the gym and outdoors on natural rock formations. The durability of these pants has truly impressed me; they've proven to be one of the most robust pieces of clothing in my wardrobe.
What I appreciate most about them is their exceptional fit. These pants contour perfectly to my body, making them one of my best-fitting pairs. Even after rock climbing sessions, there are still no signs of holes or scratches on them. These pants have certainly exceeded my expectations in terms of both comfort and durability.

I brought just one pair of pants on a 24 day hike on the John Muir Trail. We experienced hot sun, rain, hail, light snow and heavy thunderstorms. These pants were perfect throughout. Never needed anything more. Kept me dry and warm. Were comfortable, stretchable and flexible. The adjustable belt was useful with weight changes and other hikers thought these pants looked fresh and new regardless. Fit great.

Best outdoor pants

I had been looking for outdoor pants for months and returned at least 4 pairs from other brands. Even though the gamma lightweight pants have a steep prize, they definitely have the best fit, with a higher rise than other brands, and as a 5’-1” petite person the short length was just perfect. I will be buying them in other colora when they come back in stock. I bought a size 2S and I weigh 115lbs.

Best hiking pants ever

I was looking for low-maintenance light hiking pants that would feel comfortable in extreme hot weather. Found them!!! used them for hours over technical trail on various terrain and in temperatures over 30/35 C. Perfect fit. Love them spring through summer into fall. Using the regular Gamma pants for the cold seasons. Just as fabulous as the lightweight version.

I bought this product a month ago, I wore it twice in hiking (not rock climbing) without washing and the seam is already unraveling at the back. When I contacted Arcteryx, their solution is to patch it with a tape. Do not waste money on this pants, it is not as advertised and the durability is zero.

Great pants for rock climbing

Pants are light, breathable, and versatile! Have used for a lot for indoor and outdoor bouldering and sport climbing; no holes or scratches! The pockets are big and zippers allow protection of items while climbing. The adjustable waist strap is nice for a tighter fit!

Curvy and they fit fabulously

Shopping for pants can be a disheartening experience. So, I am 5-stars-level happy to report that these pants fit wonderfully. I have curvy hips and butt and small waist and these fit very well. The waist is per usual too big. But that's no problem, because there's a low-profile cinch mechanism that fixes the issue. Absolutely constructed with the need for scrambling-type movement in mind. The lightweight material was just what I was looking for. Bottom line: functional, and very flattering fit.

I bought these for rock climbing and mountaineering through a recommendation. They are really versatile, durable and comfortable with great wind-proofing, quick drying too. The pockets are generous and I really like that the waist is so easy to adjust. I find with some pants that they won't fit my waist and my hips, but in these, I could immediately move around freely and securely. I'll be buying another pair in black too!

Lightweight fabric tore first use

I was hopeful these would be a good replacement for my favorite Arc’teryx climbing pants, the Sigma SL pants. Unfortunately, these snagged and ripped on the thigh the first time I wore them climbing. The fit is great I like the adjustable tab, maybe a better pant for hiking or everyday wear, but these won’t be a go for rock climbing. I would love to see Arc bring back the Sigma line for climbing apparel.

The same thing happened to me! I sent in photos and was issued a replacement voucher. I'm going to try the more durable gamma pant for my next climb.
