great pant for warmer weather. Sized up from my normal 32 just so they fit a little looser, 33 would be perfect.

I bought this model (size 32/T) for the first time last year, and I was absolutely thrilled! I really love these pants, and the material is simply a dream! The fit is perfect, and I think they look great on me. I own several other Gamma models, but this SL version is my favorite. This year, I wanted to buy a second pair, but unfortunately, size 32 no longer fits me. It's too wide. And the smaller size 30 is much too tight. I have this exact same issue with the other Gamma models too! The constant ordering and returning is incredibly frustrating because I simply can't rely on your sizing anymore!! A size M should ALWAYS be a size M, and a 32/T should ALWAYS be a 32/T. I really don't understand your new sizing 'revolution' concept anymore! Plus, you offer these pants in size 31/T, but they are NEVER available. I find this very unprofessional and frustrating, unfortunately! I truly hope you can fix this. Thank you so much!

These are great except the zipper is still too short. Void is a really nice color but stains very easily and had to get out.

I’ve been wearing the Gamma SL Pant Men’s for a few weeks and they’ve been excellent. Super light, comfortable, and flexible — perfect for hiking or just everyday wear. They breathe well, dry fast, and the fit is spot on. Great all-around pants that feel built to last.

Finally got my hands on this coveted pair of Gamma SL pants. I’m usually a 32-R, but had to size up since the fit runs more “fitted” — especially around the crotch, which felt a bit snug for me. Sizing up made all the difference, and I’d definitely recommend it for better comfort. I recently wore them on hikes around the Squamish area, paired with my Proton SL Hoody — and together, they were the perfect match for the changing conditions this Spring. The Gamma SL pants are incredibly light next to skin, almost like wearing nothing, and the freedom of movement is unreal.

This became a wardrobe staple on and off the trail! Functional for long days hiking and camping but refined enough for a day in the city or grabbing a pint in the evening.

I really like these pants very light and comfy feels great all day wearing them.

I have many pairs of the regular Gamma pant. I wear them in the office and out on the trails. I was excited about the Solitude color, for a lighter summer color. However these pants in this Solitude color, are see-through. I was wearing white trunks and they were visible through the light grey color of Solitude. I asked my partner, who's response was "Those are not appropriate for the office." They were promptly returned. Hey Arcteryx design team, how did you not notice this Solitude fabric was see through?

These pants provide great wind protection and adequate water resistance. I prefer these over the standard gamma pants for their comfort and use during warmer weather. They are super light and you barely feel they’re on. The belt enclosure is high quality and the fit is pretty good. I’m 6’ and the length is slightly long but not unbearable. I probably would have preferred the short inseam but I never see the color and size option in stock. Overall pretty happy with these pants !

Really light, perfect for summer. They do a short leg version which I really appreciate as I have found other pants slightly too long in the past. Slim fit with adjustable cords near the ankles so they can be tapered in. This makes them look fashionable with trainers as well as being ideal for their intended use of walking / hiking. The Gamma series is the best! While I'm sure some complaints about sizing are valid these are perfect for me. 6ft, 130lbs, athletic build, 28 natural waist. I've now purchased the Alpha Hybrid, Gamma Pant, and Gamma Lightweight all the latest versions 23-24 and I have to say I'm extremely impressed. I've not found a better-fitting pant and I've tried loads of options. Most of the time my issue with other brands is the crotch is far too tight (ie OR Ferrosi) which is both annoying and restricting to ROM. The gusset crotch and range of motion while high-stepping is unrestricted thanks to these being patterned excellently. I've found this to be the case with all gamma models. A light baselayer still works well in these but they are more fitted than the Gamma Pant. The integrated belt is excellent, low profile, and solid. I love how the excess can be stored inside the waistband. Also zero complaints about the button closure. Zippered pockets are great for security and reducing the annoying flare that happens when climbing. I'm glad there is not back pocket, I don't find them useful for carrying anything and the metal zipper always ends up poking you when sitting on hard objects or doing workouts. Arcteryx has nailed the Gamma line for its intended use. The fit, features, and fabrics are all industry-leading IMO.

Arc’teryx used to sell a line called “Palisade”. Originally, these had a shorts, a cropper, and a long variant. My favorite was the cropper. Then the cropper was discontinued. But at least you could shorten the legs of the long pants. Then they changed the fit of the Palisade long pants to make the legs much narrower—and, as a consequence, less comfortable. Then they discontinued the Palisade altogether. The current equivalent is the Gamma. But this suffers by missing one side pocket and a back pocket. It seems that the aim is to be able to say “New” each season. But that can only imply taking a perfectly good line and making it worse. I hate this.

I bought two pairs of these years ago and have been extremely happy with every bit of them. I am 6'5" tall with a very long inseam. finding active hiking/climbing pants is nearly impossible. I ordered the 32 waist pant in their tall option and found it was perfect! Besides the great fit, these pants are very durable and well featured. I love the integrated webbing belt that lies flat and is not noticeable under my hip belt or climbing harness. The zipper pockets are low profile too and keep everything where you put it. The fabric on these pants has stood up to many many days in the field. Unlike other softshell pants I have tried, this fabric still looks and feels new after years of use. I keep waiting for the pants to wear out to purchase another couple pairs, but I'm still on my original set.

Another great pair of trousers, not as light weight as my last pair of Gamma’s. Super comfy for wearing all day and surprisingly durable. Super fast drying and the usual great build quality. Not the most generous of fitting so if you are in between go up.

I just used these in Argentina and had so much frustration over the lack of a back pocket. I don't understand why they would get rid of them... serioulsy... how much weight do you think you're saving with that? If I'm that concerned with saving 1/4 of an ounce there are plenty of other ways to shave weight.

Had these for a few years. Great for what they are- lightweight pants, not like Gamma MX which are bomb-proof. The L pocket delaminated so I sent them back to Arc'teryx. The repair was phenomenal - I couldn't tell there had ever been a problem. Well done Arc'teryx!

Purchased after good experience with Gamma Quick Dry. A slightly thicker material that is more resistant to rough terrain. A very good choice for colder weather conditions. Be careful with the length of the pants, R is a little longer than R in Quick Dry.

Love these pants. I hike and climb in them in Montana. Pricey but definitely worth it.

super comfortable and handles things like abrasion and pricker bushes and the like no problem, not a single rip or fray: amazing especially considering how light and then. Pretty good at stopping wind too so a base layer extends the usefulness of the pants.

"You will never get that blood out". I wasn't so sure, but after five days in the San Juans, I figured that the blood stain was set, and I would have to accept the stain as a conversation starter - no more wearing them out with my wife as my Cookie-Monster-Blue Grandpa Pants. When I got home, I found that one normal wash and the blood stain had come out. My buddy owes me twenty-five cents. A bet is a bet. And there was NO laundry sorcery needed. Not only that, but these pants really held up. I should also mention they stayed up - I really like the built-in belt. When we were off trail, we were post-holing in on snow over blowdown and deadfall any step could leave me crotch-deep; every time my leg went through, I wondered if I had been impaled. It was cold enough not to feel it. That is how I got the blood stain - post-holing and being stabbed by a downed tree beneath the snow. Oddly enough, my skin was impaled and bloody, but the pants were not. These pants stretch and stay tough. They breathe and repel water and wind. I highly recommend these pants. Best piece of new gear on the trip for me, and this was the "new gear" trip. No bells and whistles, just exceeding expectations in a quiet way.
