Great lightweight jacket but order one size down

Really nice summer weight soft shell that packs up very small and gives good wind resistance. Lots of very useful pockets. It comes up large, so if you are (for example) normally an Arc Teryx XL, then order L.

Gute Jacke, schlechter Schnitt

Gleich vorweg - ich besitze eine breite Palette von Arcteryx Produkten und war bisher mit allen sehr zufrieden. Von dieser Jacke bin ich leider enttäuscht.
Zuerst mal das Positive:
Der Stoff ist im Vergleich zum Vorgänger (Gamma SL) ne grosse Verbesserung. Auch das überarbeitete Design fand ich persönlich sehr ansprechend.
Was ist schlechter:
Der Schnitt!
Bei einigen Jacken fand ich die Anpassung der Grössen noch durchaus sinnvoll, damit man besser schichten kann zb. bei der Kyanite Jacke. Aber bei dieser Jacke hat man mMn. jeden Bezug zur Realität verloren. Grösse L ist dermassen weit um den Bauch, dass beinahe 2 Personen drin Platz haben.
Ich hoffe einfach mal, dass das nicht zur Norm wird. Ich würde ungern eine neue Marke suchen, nur weil mir dir Kleider von Arcteryx nicht mehr "passen".

Not at all what I expected

Had a Arc’teryx “shell” jacket from my company that was my favorite jacket of all time. It has a logo on it tho and since I know longer work for the company I wanted one just like it (minus the logo). I called the customer help line and read them everything I could off of the jacket. The person said it was the Gamma jacket. The Gamma jacket that i ordered looks like my company jacket but it is probably 1/2 the weight and thickness and not nearly as effective at cutting the wind and thus providing much warmth at all. It is a very thin super light windbreaker. I don’t need another super light windbreaker. Very disappointing. It was $240 but I would have gladly paid more for the right jacket.

Great pocket additions but awful sizing

Love that they added the chest pockets from the Gamma MX while keeping it lightweight, but the sizing is awful. Medium is my normal size, but this one fits like a barrel and fits more like a large than a medium. Sleeves were fine, but the body was way too big. Sizing down didn't help, as the small fit like any other small and was too fitted.

Arc’teryx - at it’s best 👍

After I lost my Mammut jacket last year and Mammut took this model off the market, I had been doing extensive research and ultimately landed at the Gamma Lightweight - I wanted again a jacket for summer, rain, for spring and autumn days and evenings and which keeps you warm on e you pull a Merino mid-layer underneath - thank you so much ARC’TERYX - basically love it 🚀
Fits perfectly my not too sporty shape and has already helped me to survive some rain attacks on the golf course - talking about rain: in heavy rain 15 minutes, light rain 30-45 minutes, but helps to find somewhere to „hide“

Fantastic Lightweight Jacket

I bought the black version from the new Battersea store in London recently and I have to say, it's one of my favourite pieces I've bought in a long while. I find it's the perfect transitional jacket and something you can put on in the early mornings if you're leaving for an early hike and what makes it worth the money for me, is the fit, fabric and packability. Can confirm it blocks wind and light rain. It's an odd fabric in the sense that it looks very flimsy on the hanger but feels more substantial than it appears once on, almost has a seersucker like quality to it. Rolls up nicely and small and doesn't seem to crease easy once unfolded. Looks very smart in black with either hiking shorts or even neat black trousers around town. Feels nice on the skin, doesn't get too clammy. I'm a fan of the discrete tonal logos on chest and reverse of collar. Only gripe is the pockets aren't very deep and doesn't have the dump pockets on the reverse like some do.
