Beyond amazed with the performance of this shell. I spend anywhere from 6 to 10 hours a day outside carrying mail in Northern Oregon. Yesterday, I took the AR out for its first run on arguably one of the worst storms we’ve had in a while. I was exposed to the rain, globular snow, sleet, and wintery mix for 10 hours (day after a holiday is always a long one) It shedded water off like a beast. I only experienced “wetting” where my satchel touches the shell, and that is totally to be expected on any high performance shell, it’s whether or not the jacket breaches and allows moisture into the interior of the jacket. This held off the water no problem. When I finished at the end of the day, I took it off any checked my atom ar hoodie for any signs of leakages. Absolutely dry as a bone. Highly highly recommend this product! Look forward to maintaining the jacket with the arc spray and detergent! Also, I had some staining while on route from different things rubbing against the fabric (mainly greasy magazines) and once I was home, the stains magically wiped away with a damp rag and a tiny amount of elbow grease. It’s gonna be easy to keep this thing looking brand new.

I need outer layer for brutal winter since I am moving to the north, and I also do some research so I am quite impressed the quality of jacket and overall---it's outstanding!!

This AR replaced my older “red” AR shell that was replaced by Arc’teryk shell that had delamination. I received a coupon that covered a new shell. The new shell feels lighter and softer than older shell. I like the stormproof collar as it provides greater protection from wind, rain, and snow. I am 5’6” 160lbs and a medium fits perfect and allows for a few layers underneath. Primary use is for winter hiking and skiing. Arc’teryk Rocks

wow. just wow. this is my first Arc'Teryx jacket I'm just blown away. I can now understand why this is a beloved brand for many outdoor enthusiasts. It's very clear that the ethos of Arc'teryx is reflected in every piece! I cannot wait to add more and have something for every possible situation nature throws at me! I got a size L and realized a M would've been better but I'm still very happy with the purchase! I tested this in a variety of weather conditions already and the Beta AR has protected me from them all! My only gripe is that I sized up because I wanted to layer things underneath, I wasn't aware that layering was built into the design of the jacket itself (reading reviews online has made it apparent in hindsight)

The jacket is great! It looks good, it is very high quality, the zippers work great and works exactly as described. It's exactly what you would expect from a brand like Arc'teryx. However, after one year of usage I washed the jacket for the first time as it was due for one. I washed it using the instructions from Arc'teryx with two other Arc'teryx jackets from my family. After the wash, all the seam tape had completely dissolved and the zipper water repellent product had leaked onto the gore tex. I was scared because I thought I had ruined the other jackets but they turned out to be fine, only mine was affected. I explained this situation to Arc'teryx and after sending in my jacket and waiting for two weeks, they told me that my warranty request could not be processed since it was beyond the Arc’teryx Limited Warranty. They offered me a 150$ gift card to buy new gear instead, which only covers about 17% of what I paid. If they would have replaced it I would have been happy since I know this is not a normal case for Arc'teryx, I have had other products and situations like this never happened to me. I am very disapointed since I feel I paid a very heavy price to have a jacket for a year that was unusable after 1 wash. Although I really like Arc'teryx products, I gotta say I am hesitant to buy from them again after this, when charging such a high price I would expect the customer service to be better, especially for situations like this out of my control.

These jackets are bombproof although the fit could be better. I have a slim body type and stand over 6ft. I find there is a lot of extra material which is good for bulky mid layers and a helmet but for everyday use leaves me with unneeded space mainly in the hood arms and chest.

Really great jacket that can be used all around the year and versatile. Well design. Future improvements: Missing several outside pockets that you have on the Rush jacket, one on the left arm to add Ski RFI Card, and one in front (upper front body, left side).

Great all round Gore Tex jacket. I have owned the Beta LT which was sadly stolen, decided to opt for the AR due to wearing the jacket for work expeditions where durability is important. I wear medium in all my Arcteryx gear (Atom LT, Thorium AR, Covert hoody) and i ended up getting this in a small, it fits larger for layering, typically i layer with a base layer the Atom LT and it works well, I can layer with the Throium AR also albeit with a bit less space. Works well for around the city also as not to baggy.

The Arc'teryx Beta Jacket has been my go-to storm jacket, and it has truly proven itself in some crazy weather conditions. Whether it's pouring rain or fierce wind, this jacket has kept me dry and comfortable every time. The lightweight yet durable design makes it easy to pack along without sacrificing any protection when the weather turns harsh. The fit is great, and I love how versatile it is for everything from hiking in the backcountry to braving the elements around town. Highly recommend for anyone needing reliable protection in unpredictable weather!

Purchased this as an all-purpose rain jacket for the wet climate I live in. So far it has not disappointed! the cut is smaller and shorter than my gore-tex ski jackets, and the style is subtle for wearing on the trails and around town.

Very great product. Never lets me down and always protects me from the rain. Took this with me skiing and it was light as a feather but hard as a rock. An amazing jacket to invest in!

The jacket is fine, more of a flimsy rain jacket material than a hardshell storm jacket. Slightly disappointed being that it’s marketed as a storm jacket especially for the $600 price tag.

From powder skiing to sweating while trailing behind a toddler learning to ski to hardcore snowmobile trips in a blizzard this jacket is my husbands go to.

As a fan of arcteryx kit for many years both professionally from military /police and rescue work to day to day functional quality clothing. I purchased the Beta AR as my go to multi functional rain jacket. I’ve used it on a 4 peaks challenge 24 hour endurance challenge and during the training on the hills and mountains leading up to the challenge . It does what it was designed to do and never let me down. With its deep pockets and neck high wind guard that still allows the hood to be put up or down without opening the main zip , it’s a well taught out jacket. It along with the rest of my arcteryx layers and kit are an example of quality over quantity.

Incredible jacket, already had mine for 5 years and still works like new, although it is sad that they are not longer producing the SV version

I recently purchased the Arc’teryx Beta AR jacket with the StormHood and am extremely happy with the fit. I initially bought the Beta AR in size small, but found the arms too long for me. After trying the extra small in the StormHood version, it fit me perfectly. Had this jacket for a little under 12 months and when it rains it's my go-to. It's been absolutely solid and dependable but..... Recently one of the integrated Cohaesive cord-locks has become detached from the inside of the hood. I've since been told that this is a 'wear and tear' issue, this I find hard to believe given the target consumer and the price. All that is to say I'm hugely disappointed in Arc'teryx, after years of being a customer for them to reduce this issue to 'wear and tear'. Surely consumers shouldn't be expecting a jacket element to fail within 12 months? Very poor.

I use the product almost everyday, it beads of water really nice and the hood is perfect for helmets

The Beta AR Jacket StormHood Men's has become my go-to for rainy days. I use it almost every day, and I really love how well it holds up in the rain. The waterproofing is excellent, keeping me dry even during heavy downpours. I often pair it with a hoody underneath for extra warmth, and it works perfectly without feeling bulk! No complains at all

I love this jacket, and I will not travel anywhere without it! I've used this jacket for a really wide range of activities. While I initially bought it for skiing as a shell (which it works perfectly for), but I wanted a versatile jacket I could use for any activity. I wore it every day while backpacking in Northern Sweden, providing protection during full days of rain, but it also was incredibly useful as a breathable barrier during sunny days to keep mosquitoes from biting. It works well as a rain jacket in warm weather, and it has served me really well in tropical countries from Sub-saharan Africa to Southeast Asia.

Solid product. Didn't test in snow conditions yet but was very good against rain. Hood is a bit difficult to figure out how to adjust. The only thing that annoys is the length of the sleeves. Why are they so long!! Jacket fits perfectly except the sleeves.

This is my everyday winter shell jacket; versatile for work, town, backcountry splitboarding and skiing. Has decent zippered pockets, though coats always need more - I'd add a couple if I were designing it. Hood is great design; fabric is weatherproof; fit is good for layering under it. This is the most versatile and best value of the shell lineup.

This is my second jacket from Arteryx, 3rd, if you count my partner has one as well. I love the added pockets and the new color, in addition to all the great standard features that Arteryx offers, light weight, breathable, hood with a cap.
