Taema Hoody Women's

Extremely light and breathable (one of the most breathable I've found!), with a nice hood that fits over my climbing helmet (key). The cut is a little weird: while it fits, it does make me look pregnant and is therefore also a little baggy, though the shoulders and chest fit fine. A little bit of tailoring would be nice!

This was a great purchase, originally bought for my first backpacking trip and found it to be awesome at keeping me cool in the sun, stink-free, and arms/neck/torso didn’t get burnt! I found the arms to be a bit tight at first (think lulu swiftly tech long sleeve tight), definitely designed for someone with lithe arms, but they gave out a bit with wear. It may be worth trying the men’s version of sizing up if you’ve got strong/bigger circumference arms. Otherwise great purchase and I would recommend!

I got the Taema hoodie in the color Atmos Heather in size medium. I have taken it on multiple backpacking trips and have worn it every day on each of those trips! I felt like I didn't need to use as much sunscreen because it provided good protection. However, the color did show dirt more quickly than I expected, so I might choose a different color next time. Aside from that, it was extremely comfortable, durable, lightweight, and quick drying.

As a trail and mountain runner, I spend a lot of time on foot out in the sun and the elements. I recently came back from a week-long trip running in the Sierra Nevada mountains and I wore my Taema Hoody almost every single day! I love how light and breathable the material is, yet extremely comfortable! I can run in the mountains all day in this without ever feeling too hot with high output adventures. I also love the sneaky thumb-holes at the sleeve and love this design so much more than the thumb-hole cut-out in most other sun shirts. Another thing I absolutely love about this product is how big the hood is. I often feel that with most jackets or hoodies I buy, the hood is too small or doesn't cover my head and stay on if I am wearing a hat or my hair up. Though I've only worn this trail running so far, I feel the Taema Hoody would also be an excellent choice for rock climbing as well!

I love the lightness of this fabric, and the neck/hood area is so perfect—Great coverage and comfortable. I got a size small and it fits my body perfectly, but because there is no stretch it can feel a little tight around my upper arms when I’m doing certain movements. If the arms/shoulders were a little loose this would be perfect. I bought it at the same time I bought the t shirt, also in size small, and that fits perfectly. A medium would be to big. I love the off white color and the brown color, I got both!

The hoody is nice and I typically love arcteryx stuff but the size creep is getting out of control. I used to always be a small in Arcteryx, bought this in an XS and it’s way too big on me (I’m not a particularly small person - 5’5, 137 lbs, muscular). I would return or exchange for xxs (seems crazy to me), but I bought from the outlet final sale, bummer because I don’t like how baggy it is on me so I won’t be able to wear it.

This is my third Taema. Love it. Fits well, keeps me protected from the sun and helps keep me warm.

I have two of these sun hoodies and love them! They haven’t gotten stretched out or faded in two seasons. I really like the hood and how it protects my neck and the sides of my face from the sun. I have a shorter torso and the length is perfect on me. I wear it in the heat of the summer, and the winter for touring on sunny days.

This is a long-sleeve sun shirt that delivers on UV protection. For a long time I hated wearing anything long sleeve in the summer because it feels so icky with sweat, but the Taema is light and stays airy through activities. Note that it's a regular fit - which is good for room to move in hot weather - but there is very little stretch overall. A bit tight around the neck and cuffs especially once you get going/sweaty. As well, the Taema in white stained way more easily in comparison to other white Arc'teryx pieces and was harder to get the stains out. Not a dealbreaker by any means and I fully expected this getting a white colorway, just something to note.

I am a climbing guide and I have worn this sun hoody a lot!! It definitely does its job of protection from the sun, has a nice big hood that fits over helmets and is super durable! It still honestly looks near new after thousands of days in the field and doesn't stink, stretch out or get stained. Not sure how they managed this, but nice work! Improvements could be made as far as stretch, tactile comfort and fit. It is a bit warm on really hot days as it is not super breathable. However, despite this I wouldn't trade the durability for more stretch. Also, it fits a bit baggy and could be a bit more flattering..but once again, the durability outweighs this. I keep pulling it out as it is the only sun hoody that has held up to day after day use! If Arc'teryx really wanted to hit a home run..they would keep the durability (as I have never had a sun hoody last this long), make it in a more flattering fit, add more breathability, add stretch, a high neck line and cinch hood. Then this would be the absolute best!!

This hoodie definitely didn’t deliver what’s promised. No stretch, no breathability and no room for C cup breasts. The fabric feels like a cheap Nike polyester which doesn’t allow any air flow. I wish I can return it! I was surprised how different it is from the men’s version I bought the Quadra long sleeve and that absolutely perfect for a long day on a wall, also the Quadra feels like it’s managing the stink way better. It’s a shame, I was looking for a Sun hooded protection to replace my worn out Icebreaker and smartwool

Took this hoody on several hikes including a 90F+ long day in Sunol and a 25F snowy day on Mt. Whitney. It kept me perfectly dry and made me feel more confident to go out without getting sunburnt or hypothermia from the cold. I sized up 2 sizes because I like it really loose but it should be fairly true to size normally. Highly recommend!

I bought this top to wear as a sun shirt for backpacking and travel. My husband had a sun shirt he purchased in 2022 from Arcteryx that I was jealous of. I decided to purchase the Taema hoody as it looked similar but it seems to be a completely different material. And it has no stretch - which I find frustrating mainly when I want to push the sleeves up a bit when it’s really hot and muggy and I’m backpacking in and out of sun and shade. I cant push my sleeves up much past the wrists - the sleeves are pretty closely cut and with the lack of stretch there’s no give to the fabric. I was disappointed but had already taken the tags off plus I like the colour (I got the wicker heather). Every time I wear it all I can think is I wish it had just a little stretch. It would have made it perfect. I took my normal size small. If I had sized up it would have been too big in the body but it might have made up for the lack of stretch.

I bought this at the end of August because I was going to be hiking Rocky Mountain National Park, and wanted to keep my skin protected from the sun. It was perfect! I don't usually hike in long sleeves because I get hot, but it was lightweight and it didn't bother me at all! Would definitely purchase again in the other colors. For reference, I am 5'3, 140 lbs, and got a Small!

I got a Medium, I’m 36 bust, 40 " hip fits well, not tight.

I bought this shirt about 2 weeks ago. I had hoped the material was a bit softer and that it was more breathable. I used it for paddle boarding on a hot summer day. . I like the color and hood. Fits a bit tight in the upper arms

This sun hoodie has become my go-to choice for all my outdoor adventures – whether it's backpacking, climbing, or cycling. I especially like the Sprint Heather color for cycling, not only because it enhances visibility and safety but also because it adds a vibrant touch to my pictures, making me stand out against the background :) One of the things I appreciate the most about this hoodie is its exceptional sun protection. With the added SPF, it has saved me from serious sunburn during trips with intense sun exposure. While my partners ended up with sunburns, I remained protected throughout. I'm also delighted with how quickly the hoodie dries. During a recent sunset jog up the 4-mile trail in Yosemite to reach Glacier Point, I was drenched in sweat upon arrival. As the temperatures drop pretty drastically in the valley, I was concerned about getting cold during the descent. However, within approximately 20 minutes of taking pictures and admiring the view at the viewpoint, the shirt was completely dry. Besides its performance, the Sprint Heather color does have one minor drawback – it tends to attract dirt more easily than other colors. While regular machine washing doesn't always remove those stains entirely, a quick hand wash does the trick. I don't have that problem with the Serene Heather color. In conclusion, this sun hoodie has exceeded my expectations for high-output activities. Its excellent sun protection, quick-drying capability, and eye-catching colors make it an essential piece of gear. Just be mindful of the dirt factor if you opt for the brighter color. Nonetheless, I highly recommend it for anyone seeking a reliable and functional sun hoodie.

I got this shirt for long day hikes and I’m so pleased with it. It’s super breathable, comfortable and keeps me cool and out of the sun. I have worn it backpacking and it held up fine against the straps as well. Highly recommend. I am 5ft and petite and the small fits perfectly as I like a quite relaxed fit.

I'm a recent convert to sun protection hoodies, so was excited to add this to my wardrobe. I'm 5'5, 135 lbs, and the M fit was just a little tight in the upper arms and shoulders. Going up a size would be way too big elsewhere. I also wasn't thrilled with the neck construction. The Serene Heather color was fabulous tho.

I bought this hoody and although I love the colour and general fit, I couldn't score it 5* due to the rough fabric (may get better after washing) and the neckline felt really awkward. Not deal breakers but overall for myself jsut wasn't quite what I was expecting. I'll keep it though as it will get used.

I have multiples of this shirt I use it so often! Works as a sun protective layer on high alpine summer days without overheating or as a warmer breathable layer on winter trail runs. It is my go-to long sleeve year round!

I was really excited about this sun shirt, but after a summer of use, I am really unhappy with it. First, it is not very breathable. Second, it attracts dirt/dust very easily, and then this does not wash out. Anything sticks to the fabric like crazy and does not come out in the wash. I have another Taema fabric top that does the same thing. I have also never owned a garment that gets as stinky or dirty as this shirt after only a day of activity which is not great when you are on a multi-day trip. I expect more from a technical top and especially from Arcteryx. Third, the seams started to come apart in the hood after one summer of minimal use. I am easy on my gear and look after my things which is why I am so disappointed in the quality.

I've worn a couple versions of this sunshirt now over the past few years, but I absolutely LOVE the new Taema hoody. Also, the new Sprint color is so good. It's so lightweight, dries fast, and the high neck collar in the front is a great feature. The thumbholes are also great, although if I was to give any feedback it would be to include a watch slit at the wrist... you sort of have to choose between protecting your hands and seeing your watch stats. I'm an ultra runner, and I plan on living in this hoody all summer.

This has been my go to long sleeve sun shirt all spring, summer and into the fall. I will continue to wear it in the winter also. I love the UPF factor as it reduces my need to slather my arms and back of neck in sunscreen working outside most of the year (I’m lazy). It is airy and light with good length for coverage in the body and arms and the hood sits well over a hat, toque or just your head. Odour control is a meh, but I’m a naturally sweaty person so my activewear pieces tend to smell more than drier folks. I primarily wear this hiking and on the water in my kayak and SUP. I will probably get another one to rotate between.
