Fast, Comfortable & Trail-Ready

I’ve been testing the Sylan Pro for the past month across a mix of steep alpine trails and fast-paced forest runs. It’s incredibly lightweight, which makes a difference on long climbs, but still feels solid and protective underfoot, especially around sharp rocks or muddy sections.
Fit-wise, it runs true to size for me. The heel lock is snug without being restrictive, and the forefoot gives just enough room for toe splay during descents. The upper material surprised me, breathable yet tough. After several runs in both rain and sunshine, it dried quickly and didn’t stretch out or lose shape.

Ein ganz neues Laufgefühl

Durch die "Rocker"-Konstruktion des Schuhs verleiht der Sylan der Laufbewegung eine unheimliche Dynamik! Man wird bei jedem Schritt quasi nach vorne katapultiert. Daran musste ich mich erstmal gewöhnen. Das ging aber sehr schnell, und mittlerweile ist er mein Lieblingsschuh für laufbare Trails. Die Vibram-Sohle greift auch im Matsch zuverlässig und sorgt für extreme Sicherheit.

The most impressive shoes I've ever had. The soles of the shoes generate a spring-like force that propels the body forward and upward on the hill. Highly breathable so that your feet stay comfortable even when wearing for a long time, Strong grip yet gentle support to your feet, enabling a long-distance use. Highly likely to be my companion from day-to-day city hopping to the mountain quests. I love the Archaeopteryx logo design that stands out stylishly and makes me feel strong and free.

Norvan LD3 are a miracle for my morton's neuroma, & GTX allows me to con't my winter treks here in Montreal on the snowy suburban streets with -20+ temps. Can't walk in my boots anymore in winter-feet problems arises. AWESOME footwear for all seasons for my problematic feet!. y

These rule. No blisters on the first run, super lightweight and performed really well on variable terrain. Concrete, gravel, rooty trails. A solid daily-driver.
I removed the original liner and swapped with Superfeet for a little extra arch support, and they worked out great! Excited for some longer days on these!

Quality Mountain Running Shoe!

I waited until I retired my first pair of the Sylan Pro shoes to leave this review. Capping out for me at about 630 miles, I can confidently say that the Sylan Pros surpass the durability test against varied and rugged mountain terrain! The mid-sole is what gave in on this shoe first and the reason I retired it. The Vibram Megagrip tread is fantastic and the sock-like neck of the shoe makes it super comfortable and easy to slip on and off. My personal favorite detail? The position of the tongue pocket for the laces! I've experienced poorly-designed versions of this with other shoe brands so I was very happy with the design of this one!
These shoes carried me on trails all over Southern California, the Eastern Sierra and Yosemite, as well as a double-crossing of the Grand Canyon (after which I had not a single blister on my feet!). I would love to see a nylon-plated version of this shoe! The only thing that's weird to get used to with Arc'teryx shoes is the sizing difference. For example, I am typically a size 9.5W in most other shoe brands but for these I am a size 8.5W.
