GREATNESS in a pocket

I just bought this on a whim as a lightweight wind jacket for running. LOVE it! It fits great. I can see myself wearing this on walks, hikes, etc. It’s very smooth and doesn’t make any noise (a prerequisite in my books!). I do wish it had hand pockets, but I understand the weight that it would add would be defeatist. The chest pocket could be a little longer on the women’s jacket to accommodate my phone better. That’s my only (minor) gripe and it’s not a deabreaker. This light little jacket will be with me for quite some time!

You won't be disappointed with this purchase - especially if you live on the coast! The Squamish Hoody is perfect for fall multi-pitches, hiking or simply commuting to work! I love the protection it provides even though its so light! I've worn this jacket in a rain storm and still stayed dry!

Favorite layer!

I have this in Hyperspace, Labrynth and Exosphere. Its the perfect layer to take the chill off from A/C or as a wind breaker on a summit and everything in between. Its the perfect jacket and surprisingly warm despite how thin it is. The only improvement would be to make the front pocket large enough for today's smartphones. Its just slightly too small for the Galaxy S10+ 5G with a very narrow bezel case. Makes it difficult to quickly access for photos or phone calls. Im always cold and I practically live in this jacket from spring to fall.

Excellent shell for that spring/summer afternoon breezy/windy drizzle.. Very breathable. Dries super quick. Super lightweight. Excellent quality. Use it almost every day on my 5 mile walks.. To make it super perfect I maybe would add a second pocket! But it is definitely not a deal breaker. This jacket is excellent. As always Arctery’x never disappoints. Well Done!!!

I love this jacket. It's an excellent wind shell layer and I use it for pretty much everything I do. It packs small and I either stash this or my Norvan SL depending on conditions forecast.
Love the adjustable cuffs (I have the velcro pre-revised cuffs, and I actually like them!). Having a pocket is also clutch, and I use it to carry my phone when I'm on runs.
If I had one nitpick it would be that the hood is a little flappy sometimes. It would be nice to have an option like the nodin where you could fold it into the collar, or somehow pin it down. Wouldn't want to give up the hood entirely because it's helmet-compatible.

This lightweight shell jacket is perfect for outdoor activities which requires freedom of movements but still some protection weather protection. It is an expensive brand but all products I have from Arcteryx are worth every penny. This product is well worth the investment. The customer service is very good and shipping is excellent.

LOVE how lightweight this is!! You can easily take it off and tie it around your waist when you get warm. I run with this when its gloomy/drizzly and it keeps me VERY toasty. Due to the lack of ventilation, i usually take it off. A great protective layer and nice to carry around. I just wish i could remove the hoodie because when i'm running, it definitely bounces with my every stride
5'6, 120lbs, and i got an XS! I like things slim fitting and because you won't really layer anything under this, the size is perfect!

Best jacket for alpine rock & multipitch

Loving it so much! I almost always have it clipped on my harness when I climb on the rock. So small and light, I don't even notice it's there when I'm climbing, yet it gives me enough protection when it gets little chilly or windy. I sometimes wonder how strong the clip loop is when I'm going through chimney etc, but so far it survived full season of climbing, and no holes on the fabric either. Highly recommend it!

Excellent jacket! I use this when my Beta AR would be overkill. This is great for shorter hikes when weather looks to be good. It's always great to have as an emergency layer for an unexpected storm or when the wind picks up. Very glad to have this, and it packs down so small you can take it anywhere.

I ordered this jacket as a lightweight hiking and around town windbreaker when I didn't need something waterproof (it is not even particularly water-resistant as I recently got caught off guard in a downpour in it!). For what it is though, it is great, all that I would expect from an Arc'teryx jacket. I was kind of surprised though when the Dawn color I ordered came, though. Based on the website, I thought it would be a more yellow color, but when it came it was much more light orange. Nice color, just not accurately represented, at least on my computer.

I bought this jacket for my wife and she loves how packable and light weight it is. It’s perfect for those windy summer days and cool summer nights. The only thing missing that would make it truly excellent would be if it had side pockets. My wife says it’s especially ideal for women because women’s shorts and pants don’t always have pockets or they’re too small so jacket pockets are pretty crucial.

My favorite!! But not water resistant.

I read that there was some water wicking capacity which is why I bough it, but it’s not great. Large droplets of water will permeate the jacket but light rains will wick off. Wind resistance is amazing and it’s so light and comfy I use it hiking or running daily. I can’t imagine outdoor recreation and exercise without this little number. I pack it camping and it stores away like a boss! Beautiful color selection. I got the Iolite but I would love one in every color :-) I’ll most likely get the Gortex norvan as a companion to my Squamish. I luv Arc’teryx

The Squamish jacket is the perfect windshell, I use it all the time walking around town and for hikes. I bring it with me almost everywhere. It is great for traveling because it packs up super small but it also provides wonderful protection for its size. It fits true to size and can be layered underneath with an insulated layer to make a warm, water/wind protected system. The chest pocket is good for storing stuff (I'd prefer hand pockets as well). The bottom, wrists, and hood can all be altered to your preference.

great for chilly morning runs

I really love this little windbreaker. I use it often for morning runs when it is a bit chilly. With a layer or two under it is just right. The hood has a beak on it which is great for us glasses wearers. The fit is great (I am 5'9"). My only complaint is that the velcro on the wrist is a bit overkill on such a light jacket. It seems a bit bulky for the nylon and it catches on anything velcro when taking on an off.

WOuld have given it 5 stars but for the logo is ridiculously large...it's like wearing Ralph Lauren Polo with overly large polo player on it.

I LOVE this jacket. It is a perfect windshirt for running and doubles as a great shell over insulating layers. I find that on cool days when Mother Nature is feeling a bit cranky, an Atom LT with this layered over it, is just about the perfect solution. By itself, for running and hiking, this is simply amazing. The fabric is super soft and stretchy and doesn't have the plasticy feel of most super lightweight windbreakers. It is quite breathable as well. I love the adjustable wrist cuffs. You can really lock them down when the weather is bad but you can also loosen them up when you want to vent a bit more. My only real complaint is in the single napolean style pocket. I'm assuming it is relatively popular as most lightweight jackets use them, but i find the location to be practically useless. If it must be limited to a single pocket, I would absolutely prefer something out of the way like on the lower back, but in all honesty, that is a pretty minor nitpicking complaint on an otherwise fantastic jacket!

I have loved this light weight simple layer, it has been really great with the hot summer we have had. Its not designed as a breathable piece but I find it works for me with moderate aerobic activity. It cuts the wind and protects you from light precipitation. I have been wearing it on long rock climbing routes and alpine endeavours. If I choose not to wear it I don't even notice I'm carrying clipped to my harness

I really love this light shell! I have it in two colors and it packs so small I carry one around with me in my backpack everyday just in case! I would definitely recommend people to try this one on first before buying because they do fit a bit large. They make great layers for travelling and hiking! They don't breathe that great (because they do help the wind out) so I probably wouldn't suggest running in them but I have gone hiking in it and didn't overheat. I would def recommend this shell!!

This has quickly become one of my favorite jackets for walking and hiking. I love how lightweight it is and it really helps block the wind. I also love how even when I heat up the jacket doesn't get sticky and sweaty. My only disappointment is that I wish they offered 2X Womens sizing. I understand that Arc'teryx brand is made for athletic individuals however not all of us have thin body types. I can wear this jacket with a t-shirt underneath and it fits great but I could never add a mid weight layer or it would be too tight. Thats kind of disappointing as I was hoping to be able to with the XL I purchased.

Fantastic wind jacket

I’ve had my Squamish hoody for about a week now and I must say I love it. I have mostly used it so far while walking to and from school while it’s been windy and it makes a world of a difference. It does a fantastic job of literally blocking the wind. It’s ridiculously lightweight and compatible so it’s easy the file away when it’s not required. It I am looking forward to getting to use it while hiking (which is the main reason I bought it). Yet another reason I love it, it can be used in almost any setting because it looks nice as well as being functional.

This is the best lightweight windshell ever. I`ve got one black, one blue and one orangecoloured. Squamish is used daily during spring, summer and fall. In summer I often use it with only a sports bra under. Is excellent together with woolnet or compression garments in early spring and late fall. Can also be used together with a light downjacket in winter. Is waterrepellent.

Everyone should have one

I have had my Squamish Hoody since 2014 and I can't do without it. It is always in my pack or on my harness when climbing. I use it for: climbing, hiking, backcountry skiing, running, cycling, bug protection, and basically an emergency layer for every activity. It is always clipped to my harness when climbing even if it is really hot out and has saved me on numerous multipitch climbs when the wind picks up and the temperature drops unexpectedly. It cuts the wind very well and provides a lot of warmth for an uninsulated jacket.
The material is stretchy and loves with you. Even if the jacket isn't waterproof, it repels water well. The pocket is useful and serves as a stuff sack. The hood is great too. After 2.5 years of heavy use my jacket still looks great.
