Pocket details don’t stay flat

Not a great fit for me. Zip pockets at hip will not go flat and pop up ruining the look. Also too high waisted. Ended up returning.

Just about perfect!

This is my first piece of Arc'teryx apparel and I have to say: WOW. The fabric, fit, and quality is evident from the moment you take these pants out of the packaging! I am almost 6' and the 6T fit perfectly. The looser fit in the legs is perfect for my athletic build (muscular thighs/hips and small waist) and the tall length is great for ladies with longer legs. They're also extremely comfortable - not digging into the waist or hips even when walking, squatting, sitting, climbing, etc. The zippers, snaps, and adjustable waistband all appear to be high quality. I look forward to putting these to the test on our nine-day Tour du Mont Blanc trek this summer! I took one star off because there is a flap of fabric that is designed to cover the zippered pockets and it sticks out and looks a little awkward right at the hip line. It's not super significant, but takes away a little from the otherwise streamlined, neat look.

Good all around winter sports top layer pant.

Love them for XC skiing over my tights. Fabric is not too noisy... it's flexible and water proof and light weight.

Comfortable, durable, great for day hike!

I wore these pants to hike Mount Washington, not knowing what conditions would be like... The conditions can range from warm to freezing cold at the summit with very strong wind gusts. They are perfect for a windy, cool hiking day! If you're wanting more warmth while hiking, particularly during winter months, I recommend adding a layer of merino wool under these. They fit great, plus the tapered bottom looks stylish and it adds an athletic touch. I would buy a pair of these in all different colors!

Versatile pants

Initially bought these pants for hiking but they are also great for climbing! I like the location of the thigh pocket; perfect for a phone. I wanted something thicker than leggings to hike in to avoid mosquitos biting through my leggings and these work well. Bottom of the legs are zippered and buttoned which made them easy to roll up when I had to cross a stream. Only downside is that they sound a bit swishy when the fabric rubs

Bring back the previous version

I have three pairs of the previous version of these pants and loved them. Unfortunately the taped seams have begun to loosen and I thought I’d try this newer version. Compared to the old version these are slightly baggier. I preferred the slimmer profile of the older version. There are no longer pull cords at the cuffs so you no longer have the option of tightening the cuffs. I never used this feature but it was nice to have the option. But the biggest difference is in waist closure. The previous version had a strong snap as well as a hook that could be used to cinch the waist tight. The current version only has a snap. But this snap is far, far inferior to the old one. It is cheaply made and does not stay closed. For me it would pop open if I simply sat down. I returned the pants.

I think you're confusing these pants with the normal Gamma pants. These are the tapered version. The non-tapered Gamma pants still exist.

Excellent!

I work outdoors taking people walking etc. These are possibly the best pants I’ve owned. Short leg option makes for a great fit, I’m only 160cm tall. The tapered leg makes them perfect for wearing with a low top boot. I’m probably buying them in the second colour.
