Keeps me so cozy between climbs

So I get cold really easy when resting or belaying while climbing at the start and end of the season. I tried everything for layering multiple pants and warm under layers but the wind would always get to me. Adding these pants when I'm chilling makes like so much better and I can actually focus on climbing and belaying haha

Light weight, packable, warm layer

Excellent light weight down warm layer. Tiny when packed into provided stuff bag doesn't take much room so always have it in my pack. When arriving at a high camp slap these on to lock the warmth in whilst setting up for the night. If it's very cold, wear them inside the sleeping bag for extra leg warmth. If things go south they make a great emergency layer.

Great for cold bikepacking days

The Cerium Pants are perfect for cold bikepacking days. They are easy to slip-on over cycling apparel and shoes when you arrive at destination and you need that little extra warmth to start setting up camp. They're very light and pack very down very small to minimize space. I'm able to easily stuff them in my cycling bags.

This is the same as the Atom Pant. Only ever made it in a men's, then discontinued. Would like to see a full length zip on the pants.

I’d happily buy these but for two reasons. Need to be 3/4 length and have full leg zips so they can be removed without remove ski boots and pants.

Fragile Fabric - Arcteryx Says its My Fault

Read reviews that said the fabric was fragile but didn't realize exactly how fragile. Purchased them online at the Arcteryx website, so didn't have a chance to put my hands on them before purchase.
Went on a photography workshop in Norway. My pants ripped in the first week of use. They rip when exposed to minimal abrasion. I don't know for sure but it seems the fabric is much lighter than the Cerium Jacket.
I owned these pants for less than 10 days before they were destroyed. I was taking pictures, just walking in the usual tourist spots. They used a synthetic insulation in the seat, why didn't they also use a more durable fabric in the seat?
Reached out to Arcteryx. There response is that "the damage to your item is not covered by our Arc'teryx Limited Warranty. ?" Yes, the "?" was included in their response. Telling me I can utilize the Gear re-Store service for up to $100 per baffle / panel replacement. I have two panels that need to be replaced and will need about 5 other patches.
The repairs could be more than half the original price. This is lounge wear and maybe an underlayer under rain pants. But at that point just buy ski pants. I wouldn't even buy these to walk the dog on cold nights, a dog's nails would shred these up also.

The Cerium Pant was designed to be a mid-layer pant with 850 fill goose down to keep you warm during static phases or in an emergency. The pant uses an Arato™ 15 shell fabric that provides excellent durability and water resistance at a very lightweight. While the pants can be worn during outdoor activities, we recommend wearing an outer shell pant overtop the Cerium Pant. I like these but ... 1) The pants lack the versitility of the Cerium jacket. Just being honest here, I don't always wear a shell every time I wear a Cerium like jacket. Probably 95% of the time I wear that kind of jacket without a shell. But the stresses these pants are exposed to are greater than those for a jacket, especially in the seat, knees and ankles. You shouldn't assume you can wear these pants in the same situations as the Cerium jacket without a shell. 2) Design decisions limit the applications for these. Down means static activities and exterior material means that a shell is required except in a sleeping bag. Seat material means you can not sit on ground or rough surfaces (rocks, twigs, branches, thorns, ...) crampons tear this material up with minimal contact. Why isn't the exterior material of the seat thicker? Arcteryx uses different insulation in parts of their gear for venting. Why don't they also use different exterior materials in high wear points? 3) Where you buy your equipment matters. I bought direct from Arcteryx. If I purchased from the large US based outdoor goods coop they would have taken it back no questions. The manufacturer response to my situation meant I had to pay for repairs and shipping back to a third party repair provider. 4) Arcteryx support just facilitates service with a third party repair provider.
Arcteryx only pays for the small thermal patches, not panel replacements. I paid for my outbound shipping and panel repairs. Repairs and shipping cost more than 50% of the original price. Summary - So I've invested 1.6x the original MSRP for a repaired set of pants worn 6 days so far. They have two replacement panels and ~6 thermal patches. Obviously there is something I like about these pants otherwise I wouldn't have spent so much to get them repaired. But they are not an all purpose, go anywhere, do anything pants. They have to be teated with care and thoughtfulness. Sit down on a rock and say goodbye to the seat. These are delicate and have to be treated with delicate hands. Those who are rough on equipment may not be happy with something like this. I get why Arcteryx describes them as ready in an "emergency," they are light, warm and packable. The point of this review is to share what's good and bad about these. Not to trash the pants. I like them despite their limitations. Buyers who don't understand what these are may be disappointed if you're not prepared for the expected repair costs.

Good warmth when sub zero skiing.

I have worn the cerium pant the past few weeks in as low as -5f and they serve their purpose tremendously. As my first arcteryx product I am very pleased with the quality apposed to some of the North F*** gear I have. The only gripe I have is the that there is only one sort of pocket. As it is a mid layer there is not much need for pockets but wearing these pants for general activities other than skiing it would be nice. I plan to purchase the cerium jacket next and eventually get arcteryx shells.
