Must be min 32 in waist for proper hip belt fit

Always come back to Arc’teryx for overnight packs because of the kangaroo zip front pouch. This is also one of the lightweight packs on the market. Everything you need and nothing you don't. No excessive zippers, pockets, and features like osprey packs. However, the greatness of the backpack is all for not, if it doesn't fit. Hipbelt only comes in one size which is annoying. I am about a size 30 inch waist, and when I have it cinched to the max for heavier loads, the left/right hip belts touch or nearly touch and max out, leaving it looser than desire. You probably need to be a minimum 32 inch waist size for the hip belt to be fully cinched and not have the ends touch. Hope Arcteryx considers making different sized hipbelts in the future. I have an old Altra 85 pack that had interchangeable different sized hip belts. That was the reason I chose that pack in the first place. What a shame.

I’m surprised it doesn’t cost more.

There’s a reason this pack has been through so many years of design change, someone at Arc new this idea would be different than anything else before. With this current iteration of the pack it’s impressive they kept the price down. The trend now seems to be, make a pack that’s ultra light and very expensive. I stopped seeing the trade off in these types of packs and realized maybe all the reviews were paid or sponsored to promote hype to sell a new product. I don’t blame these businesses but their product wasn’t for me. Instead I went with this pack that’s 2-3 pounds heavier than the competitors but hear me out. With a full carbon back plate you’ll have more strength than you need from it while being light as can be (most ultralight packs don’t have one at all.) A rotating hip belt which is unique to this pack, followed by a removable brain. Every other detail you can see for yourself in the specs. I really suggest getting this pack in hand and comparing it to the most popular ultralight one there. You’ll be confused why Arc isn’t sold out of these.

Excellent sac !

I own a Bora 80 that I purchased over twenty years ago as well as the Bora 63 and Bora 65 packs. This review is mostly for the Bora 65. First, the good: this rotoglide suspension system is great. The pack moves well with you when going over more technical terrain and manages heavy loads reasonably well. The layout of the pack is decent, top loading with side access, and pretty streamlined. While the pack is lighter than the Bora 63, it is not nearly as robust as the Bora 63 or the Bora 80 from previous generations. It also does not have a hydration bladder sleeve whereas previous iterations did. The materials used are not as durable which seems to be in line with the design philosophy that appears to have been adopted in the last decade or so of much lighter packs while sacrificing durability and longevity. I was very disappointed recently with my service call regarding my Bora 63. The Bora 63 does not come with ice axe bungee loops and Arc'teryx does not have these as a replacement part. For such an expensive pack (more so than the newer Bora 65) it is incredibly disappointing that the pack would not come with such an essential component. I'll be sticking with my Osprey Aether Plus 85 for most multi-day trips. For heavy loads and winter trips, it always made sense, but it can be compacted down well enough for shorter trips too, is durable, has great access, and all the features that you would want and many of which can be stripped away when not needed. This pack is ok, but where Arc'teryx once had my full support and trust by having their brand logo on gear, now I have to filter more carefully as there are some misses amongst many of the great products they have.

Perhaps I don't understand your point. At best, you got a really strange belt and at worst, you are misleading the readers. The belt does not naturally bend backwards, it bends away from the pack to form around your hips to support the weight. In your pictures you are clearly forcing the belt to bend backwards. Every backpack I've had in over forty years has a belt that will bend any way you want to bend it. Even though it is quite stiff around the suspension point, it will bend backwards if you force it, it's a belt. It also has one point of contact in the center - that's the whole point of the RotoGlide suspension system. The belt sits on your hips and supports the pack. Everything works and is designed as it should be. I honestly don't mean to deny your experience, I just don't think your review conveys what your issue really is.

Comfortable for carrying upwards of 50lbs on hikes

Purchased this backpack to be my workhorse this summer for hiking and working in the mountains. I have to carry 40-50lbs of camera gear on 30km hiking days and I was very pleased with the comfort, even after multiple days. The way the backpack placement is customizable and moves with your body is a spectacular feature. My only criticism would be not including a protective place for a water bladder and not including a rain cover.
