Atom Jacket Men's

I've owned many Arc'teryx jackets and the one i keep going back to is the Atom LT. Great balance of weight and warmth. The only thing i would improve on its design would be in the high way areas maybe using a stronger more abrasion-resistant material.

We love our Arcteryx! The LT is the most versatile jacket I've ever owned. We pretty much use them all year round from -30 celsius to cooler summer nights. It's great on its own or as a mid-layer. The kids love them for school as they're warm and not big and bulky, they say they pretty much wear them all day long. I find the LT amazing at regulating body temperature, it just feels comfortable in most any condition, it's a great jacket for travel. If you are starting off with your first Arcteryx, you can't go wrong with the LT. We were debating between the AR or LT because of our colder climate in winter. If you want a jacket more for warmth from about -20 celsius or below, with limited activity... I'd say the AR. But if you want versatility, are a bit more active... the LT. We can't say enough good things about these jackets. They also wash-up really nice with Arcteryx detergent.

Was deciding between buying either a Gamma LT and an Atom LT. Due to COVID-19 I was unable to try them on in store so ordered online in sizes M and L in both styles. I already have a M Zeta jacket which fits perfectly but found the Gamma LT in M was too far snug across the chest and shoulders. The Gamma LT in L was too big! However the Atom LT in M was a perfect fit. Wore it today for first time on on a brief 2hr walk in windy yet warm conditions, with occasional showers, and it performed brilliantly. It was so comfy I also wore it around the house when I got back home too! I’m certainly going to get a lot of wear out if it. So if you’re undecided on getting one I hope this review helps promote you to investing in an Atom LT. You won’t regret it.

Bought this jacket two winters ago, mostly used as a midlayer. I am getting colder more frequently in my older age. I use this in combination with my Magnus coat for most of the winter for my daily commute to work. In combination with my Magnus, it’s very comfortable down to 5 degrees Celsius with the damp wet days in Vancouver. Any temperature below I find that I wished it had some insulation along the side. My only complaint is that the material around my throat is wearing. It’s probably a result of my weekend stubble. Otherwise it’s definitely a great jacket and my most used jacket. My wife had an Atom SL hoody and absolutely loves it. She wore it with her Beta SL to the Grand Canyon in December and kept her warm in 4 degree foggy weather.

Just ordered my second Atom jacket. Love these on semi cool days or under the Beta in the rain.

I bought these for my team and I use this for work in oil & gas and industrial work. I cannot speak for sizing because I bought it Large knowing it would be snug. It fits like a glove and is a warm layer for under coveralls and keeps me warm all day without bulk. I wear it under coveralls with a long sleeve poly pro base layer and a t shirt and it has worked well down to -25C. I also pack this for shoulder season hikes as an emergency jacket for ugly surprise storms.

Like every Arcteryx product, it works in the beginning then as it's out of warranty it starts to have problems with something. In this case the heat-seats. They simply dissolved at the waist. Doesn't matter the care, how you store... it simply happens like in lot of other products owned and bought over the years. Simply these products seem to be very nice, functional, comfortable and well manufactured. But it's scheduled obsolescence. These should be kind of product for life, almost, considering how much you pay them. And that they're designed (I would say.. they should be) for a more stressful life compared to the daily usage. Strongly NOT recommended because of price. And I can't accept a zipper that stops to work after two years: no way. Spend your money for other brands with better quality. Acteryx ignores the quality.

Our family has owned these in both hooded and non hooded. We use them all year for skiing, hiking and just going to town. They are super comfortable plus warm as a mid layer under a shell for most any day skiing and not too warm when it gets hot. Absolutely the best piece I own from this company!!!

I love the Atom LT! It's one of the most popular jackets among my outdoorsy friends, and now I see why. It's super comfortable, fits well, and is just warm enough for cold-but-not-freezing weather. Two small, but great, details I haven't seen mentioned in reviews: 1. Sleeves are tapered down to be fitted at the wrist, so wind doesn't get up there. 2. This jacket's water repellency is legit. I wore it in Seattle while it was raining (not super heavy, but enough that most people would reach for their rain jacket) and it handled the rain no problem! The rain only penetrated the fabric a tiny bit on the shoulders after several hours walking around town. But 99% of raindrops rolled off immediately. Overall, fantastic midlayer.

I used to think that the LT series were too lightweight for me. Now I own this one and a hooded version. Great jacket for walking or biking. I use it mostly as an outer layer with something underneath in order to not overheat. During winter I use it as a midlayer. Good fit, true to size, I’m 6’2 and 210 lbs and I use a large.

I owned this jacket for a couple of years and it performs as advertised. It is one of my favorite , I wore it skiing and hiking and it very comfortable . I wear it almost daily during cold months. jacket is now showing unexpected signs to wear on the collar where it would rub against the neck . Also zipper wont stay zipped up if is done up about chest high . When stretching, the zipper would slide undone. I do expect more for this price range. I did contact Arcteryx and waiting for reply

Let me begin by saying that I'm a 200lb Asian guy, 5'9" tall, 43" chest, 16" arms (measured around the biceps), 37" waist, 43" hips, and I ordered the size L (large) which fits me perfectly. The arm length and body length of the jacket fits spot-on and I have absolutely nothing to complain about re: the specs of this jacket. The size M (medium), which I tried in-store, fit my body well, but the material around the arms was bunching under my armpits and made it uncomfortable to wear. If you're ever on the edge of deciding which size to go with, make sure to try on all the sizes too see what fits you best. The Atom LT is a trim-fit jacket which is indeed hip length, as advertised. The Atom LT Jacket is without a doubt one of Arc'teryx's staple items, and it is easy to see why it is so loved by people all around the world. It's extremely lightweight and easy to pack considering how warm it is - one would expect a jacket as light as this to not be as warm as it is! I've gone on long walks on cold nights and brisk mornings on the way to work and this is the perfect jacket to throw on top of a t-shirt if you gotta get out fast. With its simple silhouette and minimalistic design, it looks smart and makes you look cool if you've got it in black or grey, whether you're wearing it with joggers, sweatpants, jeans, or tactical cargo pants. It's also a great layering piece - it's real easy to throw a tougher, waterproof jacket over top of the Atom LT when the weather gets cold or it starts to rain or snow. If you're in sub-zero temperatures, definitely do not rely on the Atom LT alone, but if you're in Fall or early Spring this would be the perfect item to wear alone. I think that if there is one thing that people might complain about, it would be the pricing. At about CAD$300, it is a bit steep for such a simple jacket, but in my opinion it is worth every penny. With Arc'teryx's lifetime warranty on any and all of their products, I'm sure that this jacket will serve me every day for the rest of my life (because I know I will actually do my best to take proper care of it, and I know the company will step in if the jacket fails to perform or if there's a manufacturing defect). You only need one Atom LT in your wardrobe anyway, and the price per wear will totally justify spending that much money after a year of wearing it. I bought mine in black so that I can use it for work purposes and it's absolutely one of the most comfortable and functional jackets I have in my wardrobe. Thanks, Arc'teryx!

Ok, so you’re reading this trying to gleam some understanding on if you should pull the trigger on this jacket. Here is the quick and dirty: buy the stuff you are going to wear all the time first, then get those speciality items to expand your base capabilities of equipment and apparel. This jacket should be the first thing you buy, the next should be a shell, then gloves, hat, thinner base layer, thicker over layer, and so on. If you don’t own this jacket buy it. It will always be your “goto” for 90% of everything you need a jacket for.
