Great jacket but sizing doesn't make sense.

I bought this because I have the vest and love it. I also have a Kyanite vest and cardigan. I bought them all in large (except the Covert cardigan) because I don't like a tight fit. The vests fit on the looser side but I was ok with them. The Kyanite cardigan was way too large, especially the arm length. So when I ordered the Covert cardigan, I went with a medium thinking it would be snug but that the sleeve length would be about right. It wasn't. There is a HUGE size difference between the large Kyanite and the medium Covert. The sleeve length is about 4" difference.I also have Atom LT and Cerium LT jackets, both in large and they fit fine. You'd think there would be some consistency in the fit between the different product lines. The bottom line is that neither the Covert (M) nor the Kyanite (L) jackets fit me. Atrocious.

I'm usually a medium. But I found the covert cardigan more of a relaxed fit. The medium was way too big. The small fits but a tad snug in the waist (since I gained at least an inch). In between sizes so I past. Very nice cardigan though.

Great Base Layer

This is a must for me when I am out skiing in the winter. It fits nicely under my snow jacket and keeps me warm all day. As for sizing, I have found going TTS to be ideal if you're looking for a snug fit, I also bought one a size up that I like to wear when I want it to be a bit baggier. For reference, I am 6'1 215lbs and the large fits me snug while the XL is what I would wear baggy.

Best fleece I've ever owned

I bought this back in 2018 and have worn it almost every day since. It looks almost new, it's super warm and comfortable, and it's streamlined and stylish enough that I can wear it to nice occasions without looking like a ragtag outdoorsy person. The fit is also perfect (for reference, I'm 170, 5'9, athletic build, and the Medium is perfect for me). Arc'teryx, please don't change anything about this fleece or discontinue it. Perfect as is.

Comfortable & smart, but fabric pilling

Got this as a gift a few months ago and have worn it almost every day since. The dark blue version looks smart enough to be worn to the office over a shirt. Sleeves and back are cut slightly longer, which adds to the comfort factor. Warm enough to skip a shell jacket when being active on a mild winter day. Unfortunately the fabric started to show pilling where it's more exposed e.g. seams, armpits, outside of sleeves etc.. This requires manual removal – which will contribute to faster wearing down of the material over time. One missing detail that would make this perfect is a two-way zipper. Other brands like Fjallraven offer this across the range and I love it when actively moving e.g. when hiking in the mountains.

Not the Arc'teryx quality I hoped for

Nice fit, looks good, but the excessive piling is a deal breaker for me. After a couple of wears it looks very cheap. Unacceptable for that price and for sporting the Arc'teryx logo.

Trophy Fleece

I've owned two of these for 3-4 years now. I'm not sure what to say other than these are best looking, best performing fleece layers on the market. When I ski, this goes on above my base layer. And that will never change. The cut of this fleece is also striking. It's so much more attractive than competitor fleeces it's not even funny. I hope the quality of this fleece never changes.

Good All Around Fleece - Except 1 Major Flaw

Very good mid layer / casual outdoor fleece jacket. Fits very well and has reasonable warmth. My major issue is the pilling that occurs all around (arms, back, front). After 2-3 months of wear (no washing), I'm a bit embarrassed to wear this as a casual outer layer (still perfectly fine as a mid layer).

Very warm and stylish

It's a very warm and stylish piece. Great for wearing casually. But I would probably not wear it in any outdoor activity due to its heavier weight. For reference, I'm 6 ft and 175 lbs. I got a large which is a bit baggier but is great for wearing casually

Warm cardigan but pilling is a huge issue.

I have owned this for about 60 days, and it pills like crazy. I love the warmth of the garment, but it looks tattered after only 2 months. Quality is more like a $40-50 product. Closeup photo shows it.

Good, but it causes my Tshirt sleeves to bunch up.

I just bought this and was impressed by the style. The only trouble is that it causes my undershirt to bunch up when I put it on. It's a huge pet peve of mine. Sadly, this beautiful jacket is being returned. Shame, it's a beauty.

Great All Year Fleece

I received this fleece as a gift and i love it. I love the fit it has and the warmth is much more than anticipated. It is a great mid layer and stand alone piece. My only complaints with it is it is very uncomfortable to layer anything underneath and is very hard to layer under so its best to layer on top of it. Pilling is also an issue, within a week there was lots of lint but if you hit it with a lint roller after use its not much of an issue. Overall the best fleece on the market and a great winter piece

Smooth jacket:girl friend jealous!

bought this jacket a month ago. Girl friend told me I was nuts to pay that money for a jacket! A week later she wore it while watching a movie. Next thing, she wants one! Jacket is so comfortable and warm it makes you forget you are wearing it! Good work Arctery`x ! Thank you.

By far my favorite fleece

I've owned the most popular fleeces from a number of top outdoor brands, and I finally found one that I love. While this is considerably less technical than much of Arc'teryx's gear, it's equally high quality. I purchased a covert cardigan just to try it out and liked it so much I bought 2 more in different colors. Fit is great, pockets are deep and well-placed, durability is excellent - you'll get some minor pilling, but that's par for the course. It's very warm and soft as well. It works great as a casual layer on cool, dry & still days, and layers OK under a shell to stop the wind. That said, it is not at all impervious to wind, so if you expect wind, you may very well need another layer to stop the wind. Overall great versatile fleece, but avoid if you're looking for something on the more technical side.

allergic caused due to material

I bought this 1 week ago, and worn couple hours, my whole back ha red rash and family doctor said it was allergic to the material, then I contacted the customer services, and told them the the situation, and the customer services said any worn item and without tag on cannot refund. I am a loyalty customer for ARC'TERYX for long times,. Right now I feel so frustrated, please be advised what I can do for this situation.

I’ve had this fleece about 3/4 months. The cut & feel are excellent but I have to agree with other reviews that the pilling of the material is unacceptable for a top end item. Solve this & it would be a five star review.

WARNING: Pills excessively, I’ve tried everything

The only way to make this sweater wearable is to spend 20 minutes to an hour de-pilling it. Don’t waste your money. Arcteryx typically as a rule puts forth amazing quality however the covert cardigan sweater is the exception to that rule.

Hi there, I agree, piling is terrible. Very disappointed. I too complained but Arc'teryx said it was normal wear and tear.
