the pants are great. First purchased was too tight, then returned and got a larger size easily. Delivery was very quick and return was free! Very happy purchase!

The Good: Pants are as advertised; lightweight, gusset crotch, zippered pockets and an actual 36" inseam. The Not So Good: Found out today that the "Forage" colour is more transparent than expected when wet, would benefit from back pockets. The Ugly: Where to start? As a person blessed/cursed with a 36" inseam, buying pants is challenging. As a woman, I find it frustrating that the longest inseam available for these pants is 34". For the cost of these pants, I want something that actually fits which means I end up buying the men's version instead. No tall sizes are available in stores which means that I need to stalk the website to try and get the one pair available as they are sold out immediately. Alas, once again this year I was foiled and was not fast enough to get the unicorn of pants. But then I checked the US site and lo! A veritable bounty of colours and sizes!! This is when the "fun" started. As a Canadian, with a Canadian credit card, I wasn't able to purchase anything as the website would not accept my card. I tried multiple times and spoke with multiple people who confirmed that, yes, the pants I wanted were available but no, I was not able to use my Canadian credit card and was directed to the FAQ page. Which states that "We accept Visa, Mastercard etc" from CANADA. It was suggested that I buy them from the store (nope, no tall sizes sent to either Canadian or US stores). I can honestly say that this was one of the most frustrating attempts to purchase a pair of pants ever. Why so hard? I have money, you have pants, let's make this work. IT SHOULDN'T BE THIS DIFFICULT. Eventually, a kind salesperson from Seattle gave me a hint, buy a gift card and use that on the US website. Nope, couldn't do that either. I finally went in person to a store in Vancouver and bought a gift card which I was able to use on the US website (I have a US shipping address). In the end, it cost me $248 Can to purchase these pants. Not sure I'd be willing to do it again. As a Canadian who really wants to support Canadian businesses, Arcetyx sure makes it unnecessarily challenging.

I have three of these pants from previous years and wear them non-stop. I purchased a pair of this revised model and they are not even close to as nice. Closure at the top feels sloppy, legs not as tapered, pockets seem slightly more shallow. There are plenty of models within Arcteryx which already fit similar to this revised model - I really hope the old model returns. I have "sold" about 10 of my friends on the old model and they all have said it is their favourite pant they have ever worn, so it's a pity to see them revised.

The Gamma Lightweight (formerly SL) is like the previous fit version of the Gamma LT ('slimmer' fit versus the 'regular' updated current fit) with the Lefroy fabric. If you like a slimmer fit and want a lighter weight pant this is it.

I got these pants during the summer and they were great for casual wear, hiking and climbing! The ankle cuff adjustability is nice and the waist adjustability with the buckle helps to achieve the perfect fit. The pants were breathable and very lightweight which was great for warmer temperatures!

Très confortable. Habille la bonne grandeur. La jambe est un peu longue pour une personne de 5 pied 7. Par contre, il y a un élastique à la cheville.

I bought this for my husband. He loves it. It is very lightweight and thin for summer hiking. He loves the side pockets that’s very convenient for phone.

I like these pants a lot. Only thing keeping it from a 5 star rating is that they are a bit short on me. I also have the LTs in the exact same size and they fit perfect. I'm not sure why this one is significantly shorter. Regardless, everything else is on point. The weight is nice and light, but more substantial than flimsy run pants. As always with this line, 1 or 2 pockets on the backside would be appreciated. Hip zip pocket is fantastically convenient. Water resistant works just the same as LT... All in all a great pant, I am satisfied.

My 3rd pair of pants. Great quality. Lightweight, great for summer fall weather. Enough room in the pants to wear thermal layer for colder activities. Rise on these pants seems to be much higher than the other two pairs of pants that I have. Not a huge deal, but would be 5 stars if the rise was ~1.5” shorter.

I bought these pants in person at one of the Vancouver stores. I compared the womens pair to the mens and found that the mens fit my hips better surprisingly, they were also 20$ cheaper to buy the mens pair. I typically wear a Medium/Large in womens bottoms however in the mens I bought a 34 R. I could seriously wear these everyday. I love them with my Hoka One One Kaha GTX. I look forward to trying the system A Eislen Cargo Pant.

Very breathable and light. Can be worn in the AZ summer without dying from overheating! Perfect amount of stretch and fitment. Love them!

I own 2 pairs of these pants. They’re so light and breathable. I wear them on hikes and casually around town too. I’m 6’1” and a Large is the exact right length

I like those pants so much that I bought 2 pairs, I wear them to work, around town, and at summer hikes. I was waiting for them to become available, they are must If your in to gamma line.

The Gamma SL are really nice and light summer pants. You´ll stay comfy in them in really hot and humid conditions during demanding mountain adventures. I like the fit and length although for non-climbing mountaineering I usually prefer a lower waist, but in those trousers its still fine and therefore more multifunctional. Im 174cm and 66kg and took a 30 short. They fit a bit loose but not too much, as i like it.

Awesome climbing pants, love the buckle, lightweight construction, and cinching mechanism around the ankles is really effective, but... The mesh cell phone pocket is glued (???) to the pant leg on the inside and has started coming undone. Pretty happy I noticed before putting my phone in there, when dangling several hundred meters above the ground...

J'ai commander ce produit, la semaine dernière, à ma grande déceptions le désigne des poches est négligé! Ce pantalon se veut léger et frais. Cependant le matériel utilisé pour les poches est en nylon des deux cotes, comme le STOWE, ce qui fait un sentiment chaleur a friction du e au mouvement. J'ai donc retourner le produit.

Have had for about 2-3 weeks, used in backpacking over 3 days, rock climbing indoors, and rec sports. Material sustains light rock brushing, rough grass falls with no wear signs. Acquired the 30 short after wanting a little less loose material from the GL regular. Pockets are perfect, slightly higher ride than the GL. Hem drawcord holds, fit is slight slim with enough bag for comfort and movement. Integrated belt holds great with pack on and no readjustments needed. Hanging comfortable: 55F-80F Exercise comfortable 45-70F with mild humidity, anything past this I will perspire enough to feel more comfortable with legs drawn (which hold great) For the future, maybe integrating groin ventilation either as a zipper exposing mesh, or small hidden holes similar to the Prana Zion stretch. This would help make those upper temps a bit comfy to move in.

Just received these today, so first impressions: excellent materials and build quality from Arcteryx as always. The pockets are simple, clean, and functional. Zippers for all three, nice. Draw cord at hem is simple and functional, also nice. They put a little stretch-give in the built-in belt, which is awesome! The fabric is lighter than the Gamma LT, and just a bit less comfy against the skin but pretty nice. It also is lighter and more breathable, better for hotter weather but I'm curious how well they will do in true heat. These pants (SL) fit a little slimmer than the Gamma LT and Gamma MX. I'm a size M in the LT and MX, tried 32 in the SL. To their credit, Arcteryx's size chart is very helpful: size M pants have a 34'' waist, and the Gamma SL in 32 has a 33.5'' waist. This is enough of a difference to be quite noticable and the pants are just a little bit lower volume overall than a size M. Too bad the Gamma SL doesn't come in 33, that would be perfect for me. I wear size 31 in jeans, 32 in dress pants, reliably. I may try the 34, or may stick with these in 32, time will tell. Anyway, another great piece from Arcteryx, tailored to perfection, lots of nice details, just a little funky with sizing. Looking forward to hiking and climbing in them this summer. 4.5 stars, .5 off for tricky sizing and the fabric is just a little rough feeling.

I usually wear Small or sz 31 waist pants for Arc’teryx. I have the Gamma LT pants in SS and it fits very nicely despite having some cycling thighs. Sizing only runs in even sizes, so I tried the Gamma SL in sz 32. The waist was not too loose, but everything else was baggier even though it’s described as “Tapered Legs, Fitted”. The pants feels as lightweight as the Incendo, which is great for hot conditions. Overall, great pants for the summer, but I wish they were a bit more trim fitted.

Brought this a few days ago, and wore it over 2-day backpacking trip. This pant is made of a stretchy material and quite breathable. It can deal with the hot as well as some cold in spring and summer.
