Simple, robust and comfortable!

I have this bag pack using in the Eiger Nordwand, multi-day skimo trips, to put all my climbing gear when ascending to the climbing Craig, for traveling in the plane and many more occasions - it's simple, super robust and comfortable to wear. The only thing is that I would prefer some super simple pockets on the front...

Excellent, functional alpine pack

I've been using my Alpha FL 30 as a mountaineering guide on Mt. Hood & for personal climbing. I like how weather resistant it is and the roll top/cinch combo works great. It is just large enough for single overnights and compresses well with ski straps through the side slots.
Q: Pros:
A: Lightweight, weather resistant
Q: Cons:
A: Fabric could be more durable

The best by a mile

I bought this pack for an ice/mixed climbing trip to the Canadian Rockies. It served its purpose exceptionally. It took quite the beating and held up well. It has great durability and uses its 30L size effectively well. Whether it be mountaineering, ice climbing, or pure alpine style, this is the only option you should be considering when choosing a pack of this size.
Q: Pros:
A: Ample space, light weight, durable
Q: Size Purchased:
A: 30L

Simple, light, but delamination sucks

I bought the 2021 version and I loved it a lot. Great fit and carries well. Though I only had less than one season of use. The seam tape started to delaminate. I tried fixing it with aqua seal until the inner pocket totally blew out. Luckily the customer service here at arc replaced it! 3 stars for bag 1 star for customer service. Uses included ice climbing, camping overnighters, alpine and travelling
Q: Pros:
A: Fit, weight, carrying
Q: Cons:
A: Material glue

Yes, I recommend this product.

Minimalist Pack that Excels

I've had this pack for about 3 years now. I've put it through the tests in just about every way possible, and this pack just does it all. From being a large crag pack, with enough room to fit a double rack and a rope, to a multiday ski touring trip, to ice climbing as a summit pack this thing does it all. I've definitely beat this thing up, but there is no other pack I'll grab in this size when I need a durable yet light pack.

A: Light

Awesome pack. Could use two small upgrades

The pack could easily be better if there was a access zipper on the side in order to quickly get stuff out without having to take the rope off and undo the pull string and roll top (much like the zipper on the AR 55L pack). And some straps on the sides would be much appreciated for securing other equipment like sleeping pads (also much like how the AR 55 pack is)

Seasons of hard use across the Alps and beyond; this pack is a personal favorite for warmer conditions where mixed precip or meltwater threaten bivvy kit or insulating layers stored within. Love the fit, climbs well, durable enough with diligent use.

A: Dry, light, simple top loader
Q: Cons:

Great all around climbing pack

I bought this pack for multipitch ice climbing, there is enough space to carry all my insulation layers and gear. This pack doubles as a great climbing pack with lots of space and a streamlined shape so I don’t feel like I’m carrying a bulky pack. I made some modifications for varying ice tools that were easily added with the existing straps on the pack.
Q: Pros:
A: Slick shape, carries well
Q: Cons:
A: Not many pockets/ add on features
Q: Size Purchased:
A: 30L

Yes, I recommend this product.

Perfect Ski Mountaineering / Alpine Climbing Pack

If you add the Oloss ski carry accessory this has everything I need in an alpine pack and nothing I don't. Love the light weight, the ability to carry 30L fully contained or 40L with the top extended. Trim size makes moving with it easy. No brain and a drawcord main closure means it's super fast to get into the pack, but the roll top extension collar makes it possible to take a little more time and seal the elements out. Also like the flexibility of inverting the extension collar into the pack, closing the roll top there to keep contents below dry while allowing fast access to other items on top of the roll top but below the draw string closure. I just need the side compression straps from the Oloss kit to manage extra gear on the approach, carry skis when I have those, or compress the load against my back for the crux section.
Q: Pros:
A: Light, simple, fast
Q: Cons:
A: Oloss side compression straps extra

Yes, I recommend this product.

Perfect multi purpose rucksack, robust and light

I have had several of these rucksacks and am amazed at their durability and waterproofness. I still use one which I bought over 10 years ago. It is a perfect size for day trips whether rock climbing, trekking, or alpine climbing. It is my go to rucksack as it is much lighter than my others thanks to its simplicity. I do use it a lot on multipitch rock climbing especially when guiding so that I can carry a light waterproof, extra layer, first aid kit, water, approach shoes and some food. It does lack a lid pocket but this can be compensated my adding a stuff sack for loose items.
Q: Pros:
A: Multipurpose light and strong
Q: Cons:
A: Missing lid pocket
Q: Size Purchased:
A: Unisize

Yes, I recommend this product.

Great pack

This pack has served me really well. Despite the 30L.rating, you can put quite a bit more in if necessary with the extendable top. It's a perfect day pack for any kind of climbing or hiking. Works pretty well for hauling on a route too, due to the streamlined design. Downsides are the front pocket doesn't work well, as the contents become pinched by stuff in the main compartment. Also, it can be difficult to access items in the bottom of the pack due to the simple top access design.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Great pack for alpine missions

A thoughtfully designed pack that is lightweight and still carries well. Very slim fit and minimalist, which some may or may not like. Surprisingly abrasion resistant considering the lightweight material. Wouldn't drag it over sharp rocks, but it has kept up well for mountain pursuits. It is highly optimized for light and fast travel and I can't think of a better alternative that I can be worn both while carrying in all my gear and while climbing. Other minimalist packs generally work for either/or.
Q: Pros:
A: Minimal, sleek, simple
Q: Cons:
A: Maybe too minimal for some

Yes, I recommend this product.

The best Alpine pack, with one fatal flaw

This pack is all it's cracked up to be, and more. With insane durability, the perfect carrying capacity and thoughtful pocket layout, this is truely a jack of all trades climbing pack. As a Mountain Guide, I can do about 80% of my vertical work with this pack. The only painful problem, is I have a short torso. And as this pack only comes in one size, I struggle to climb with it as my head is constantly hitting the top of the bag. Everything else about this bag shines though as one of the best backpacks ever made.
Q: Pros:
A: Durable, multi functional, light
Q: Cons:
A: One size back panel is too long.
Q: Size Purchased:
A: N/a

Yes, I recommend this product.

The perfect adventure pack

The perfect pack for just about any adventure you can imagine. While designed for alpine climbing this pack has a large cavity allowing flexible organization, a hydration bladder attachment and is flexible for any type of outdoor adventure. Also the outer facing fabric is incredible burly and abrasion resistant.
