“The world is big and I want to have a good look at it before it gets dark."
Tessa was introduced to the outdoors at a young age. As an early rising toddler, she was regularly taken up the local hill on her Dad’s shoulders and run back down.
Tessa grew up with orienteering as a main hobby, a sport which took her to remote forests and mountains all over the world.
After many years of hard work, it eventually turned into an occupation. Tessa competes internationally for Great Britain, is a multiple British Champion and has come 5th at the World Orienteering Championships.
Tessa has also combined international orienteering with Skyrunning, where she found a certain 'enjoyment' in the Vertical KM distance (2-5km races with 1000m climb). She came 3rd in the overall Skyrunning Vertical KM World Series in 2013, and also had some notable results over the longer SkyRace distance with a 4th place in the Limone Extreme 2013 season finale, and a win at the 30km Matterhorn Ultraks. She has also won the Snowdon International Race.
She lives and works in Edinburgh, escaping to the Scottish mountains whenever possible.
