Guy Lacelle's dedication to climbing really focused on pure first ascents and solos on Ice. He worked in the spring/summer in B.C’s forestry sector and spent his 5 months off during the winter to climb ice.

Guy had many historical ascents such as; the first solo link of the Terminator/Sea of Vapors and the Replicant in 5 hours, Weeping Pillar and Polar Circus in a day, French Maid, Curtain Call, La Pomme D’or in Quebec, and Hydnefossen in Norway.

Guy received the prestigious Summit of Excellence Award, and was a regular on the Ice Festival circuit who always lent a hand teaching clinics and competing in the comps. He won the Festiglace Competition in Quebec in 2004, as well as the pure Ice Competition in Ouray in 2000 and 2001.
