Fit is great, material is suspect

One run and the hat is a great way to keep the sun off, light weight, stretchy fit, very comfortable. Washing instructions are concerning, recommended not to wash it as it releases micro plastics…..a running hat that you can’t wash? Not good. What happens when I sweat with this material on my head!? 2025 why are we using such a material Arc’teryx?

Hi Scott, thank you for providing your feedback on the Sima 5 Panel Cap. We're happy to hear that you are enjoying it so far and are here to clarify how to clean it. Surface cleaning means avoiding fully soaking or machine washing the cap. Instead, use a damp cloth with a diluted mixture of mild, unscented detergent in water to gently spot-clean any dirt or stains and let it air dry naturally. We hope this helps!

Nearly Perfect

Nearly perfect. This is going to be incredible for backpacking. Wore it for a 20 mile run in the sun and it kept me nice and shaded. Outstandingly lightweight and icy looking as hell. Super comfortable. Only thing I’d change is an option to tighten the band for windy conditions, as the brim and flaps would catch gusts while I was running and it would fly back a bit. It also fell into my face when I was looking down on descents.

Summer approach must

Wait what!!! Who has not dreamt of this exact hat? Super lightweight, with a really well shaped and sized cape situation. For hot summer approaches this is an absolute must for me. I like to switch between putting up the cape for air flow and then running it down to block my shoulders. Hiked out the other day in intense winds and with the cape buttoned up, it was locked on my head and had no issues. HUGE fan.
