Diode Jacket Men's

I own two Veilance jackets and several other top items from around 2017-2022 in L and the athletic fit was spot on. I decided to buy this new jacket in the same size last week to replace an older one. I was extremely disappointed to realize that the sizing is now COMPLETELY OFF. This jacket now fits like XXL, so I had to return it. I don’t understand Arcteryx’s strategy with their updated fit. Are they trying to lose their athletic customers? Are they trying to appeal to dad bods? I have nothing against big people, but if you’re going to make clothes for them, at least also please bring back the original fit that 99% of your long-time customers expect!

To start off, I love the look, fit, and feel of the Diode Jacket. It maintains its minimalist design while incorporating all the technology necessary for a dependable waterproof shell. The relaxed fit makes it easier to incorporate either a mid-layer or comfortable enough to wear just a base layer/t-shirt due to the soft C-Knit lining. The pocket structure also helped convince me to make the purchase as I can use the flap covered hand pockets for more important items like my phone and wallet, things I don’t want to come into contact with moisture, while the zippered hand pockets are great for other items like keys and gum or just keeping my hands warm. After field testing on many errands with heavy city rain, I am confident that the Diode will be a key part of my wardrobe going forward for all around use but I do hope some features find a way to be integrated into later iterations: - Some way to make cuffs smaller like snap closure or a strap. I’m not a huge fan of the cuff gasket or wide cuffs around the wrist. Making it adjustable would definitely help with sealing out drafts as well as moisture better than the gaskets. - A double-zipper to access inner pockets as well as quickly ventilate when needed. Opening the zipper from top to bottom could compromise the inner layers to moisture especially in wet conditions while opening from the bottom could limit that while serving the other purposes stated above. - A key clip within a zippered hand pocket for the convenience it provides holding keys and other small important items. Overall, it is an excellent jacket, and I am very excited to see what the Veilance design team has in store for future seasons. Thank you.
