Ptor Spricenieks

Current Residence: La Grave, France

“Have fun, don't die.” - My Mom

Ptor's roots of skiing come from ski racing the hills of Southern Ontario and building straw-bale kickers as a child. After studying engineering, his second childhood took him to Whistler which in turn ignited the flame for his mountain passions and education.

Skiing was also a 'gateway' sport that introduced him to his other passions of rock and ice climbing, paragliding and mountainbiking.

30 years of worldwide steep ski-mountaineering and powder smashing later, Ptor's priority has now become sharing the inner and outer journey as a father, freelance writer and photographer for magazines, product developer, and ski guide to exotic lands.

Ptor's current program finds him still trying to ski everything while raising a family, developing leading edge skis with Pogo, lead ski-guiding at 40TribesBackcontry in Kyrgyzstan and elsewhere with his private clientelle, building mountainbike trails, planning a few books... and now that he's just turned 50, he's full on training for 60.
