Greg Hill

Biography

This man has a passion for ski mountaineering. Named one of the Top 25 Fittest Guys in the World 2011 for skiing 2 million feet on 71 mountains over 266 days of touring (roughly the equivalent of climbing Toronto’s CN Tower 3xday for 365 days), Greg has set records and established many firsts on routes the world over.

Beginning in North America, he established a 21-day pioneer route over the Northern Monashees (summiting 21 peaks along the way), the Spearhead Traverse record of 4 hrs and the complete Spearhead with 11 summits (20 000ft in 13 hours). The first North American to climb and ski Mt-Blanc in a day (11 hours, 12000 ft), Greg’s mountain summit count is up over 200 and the numbers keep growing.

Most recently one of the first to respond and rescue others on Mt. Manaslu in Nepal, Greg shares his experiences as a motivational speaker, in media appearances, films and on his blog. He has been an Arc’teryx athlete since 2000.

"The Unbearable Lightness of Skiing" is a movie Greg filmed, edited and produced, a Finalist at the Banff International Film Festival that first aired on The Ski Channel.

A shortened version appears on National Geographic Television.
