Never one to sit still for long, Anne-Marie discovered her love of running at young age. What started as weekend adventures with her beloved husky in the pacific spirit and north shore trails around Vancouver soon became a daily habit. While studying at UVIC, an unfortunate knee injury prompted her to pick up swimming. A few thousand kilometers later, Anne-Marie found herself racing as a member of the Elite Canadian Long Course Triathlon and Duathlon teams. She was fortunate enough to compete around the world from Canada and the US to Australia and New-Zealand.
In 2008 she returned to Vancouver to begin studying medicine at the University of British Columbia. With less time on her hands, she narrowed her training focus to running and was rewarded with a new set of personal bests. Surrounded by a great running community and understanding coach, Anne-Marie continues to excel in both road and trail races. She is a member of the BC Athletics elite team and represented the province at the national cross-country and half-marathon championships.
For Anne-Marie, staying active, outdoors and connected with nature is a way of life, and she hopes to inspire others to do the same. She is grateful for her many good friends and her partner in crime, Hamish, who have all kept her company on many adventures thus far.
