Joe Grant's FW12 Favourites

Arc'athlete Joe Grant is a very interesting and inspiring man. He grew up in France and spent most of his time outdoors climbing and backpacking, but didn't seriously get into running until his early twenties. Since then, he's become a world-class trail and mountain ultra runner, in distances ranging from 50 kilometers to 100 miles. For Fall/Winter 2012, here are Joe's favourite pieces to train and compete in.

Motus Crew SS: "Great cut and fit (on both torso and sleeve length), dries super fast, and wicks moisture very well. Best running shirt I've ever owned and my go-to baselayer."

Celeris Jacket: "Slim fit so it never flaps or gets in the way. The fabric cuts wind very effectively and does a good job at keeping me dry in mild precipitation. I use the side pocket for gels, hat, and gloves; and due to its placement, things hardly bounce even when full. It tucks down to nothing in my waistband."

Gamma SL Hybrid Hoody: "Great for colder days in the mountains when a little more protection is needed. Slim fit and supple fabric move really well with the body. Great pocket options for carrying a little more gear and food without the need for a pack."

Phase SV Comp LS: "Warm, slim-fitting baselayer that never feels too warm due to the two weights of Phasic fabric. It has the added benefit of a chest zipper and roll-over cuffs to regulate temperature on the move."

Stride Tight: "This is a warmer tight, with soft liner fabric, that I use all winter long. I really like the leg zippers so I can easily switch in and out of them if it gets too warm off the mountain."

Rho LTW Long Toque: "Practical, light, and very warm for its weight. I often bring it with me for travelling and racing, paired with some Phase Liner gloves."
